Maryam Rajavi: The requisite for rejecting \u2018Islamic\u2019 extremism is to confront the Iranian regime and to support its alternative that is based on a democratic Islam<\/strong><\/p>\n Neither ISIS and caliphate is Islam nor is the velayat-e faqih in Iran; neither the beheadings by ISIS is Islam nor is the splashing of acid on the faces of women in Iran.<\/strong><\/p>\n The \u201ccaliphate\u201d declared recently in Syria and Iraq has been ruling in Tehran for over 30 years now.<\/strong><\/p>\n NCRI – In a conference on Sunday, November 30, entitled \u201cUnited Muslims against abuse of Islam by extremists\u201d, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, warned that \u201cany sort of cooperation and rapprochement with the Iranian regime under the pretext of fighting ISIS will solely result in the spread of this cancer in the region with the Muslim nations as its principal victims\u201d. She added: \u201cThe crisis created by ISIS is the by-product of the conditions created by the regime of velayat-e faqih and its subordinate dictatorships by suppressing and implementing sectarianism in Iraq and Syria. For their part, the Western governments are responsible for the spread of this crisis due to their appeasement of the Iranian regime as the Godfather of fundamentalism and terrorism.\u201d<\/p>\n During this conference, held at the invitation of the French Muslims Committee in Defense of Ashrafis, Rajavi stressed: \u201cThe military confrontation against ISIS can uproot ISIS only if its fertile ground throughout the region is destroyed\u2026finishing off ISIS is possible solely if the clerical regime is evicted from all these countries.\u201d<\/p>\n Pointing to the need of the international community for a \u201cunited front of democratic Muslims that are against fundamentalism and extremism\u201d, Rajavi stipulated that in this united front, the shared view is to \u201creject extremism under the emblem of Islam and its main political and ideological epicenter which is the religious dictatorship ruling Iran\u201d. Moreover \u201csupporting the alternative to this regime, meaning a cultural solution and an alternative founded on the democratic Islam\u201d is essential.<\/p>\n As a Muslim woman, the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance exposed extremism in the name of Islam and said: \u201cNeither ISIS and the rule of caliphate in Iraq and Syria nor is the velayat-e faqih in Iran, the beheadings by ISIS, the crucifying of Sunnis by elements of the Iranian regime in Iraq, or the splashing of acid on women\u2019s faces in Iran have anything to do with Islam.
