Since Hassan Rouhani became president over 1200 have been executed in Iran<\/p>\n
NCRI – Torture and hanging of prisoners in Iran continued on the International Human Rights Day, December 10. Four prisoners were hanged in cities of Karaj and Qazvin including a woman and a citizen of Afghanistan. At least 55 prisoners have been executed in the past 17 days.<\/p>\n
On December 9, the prison guards at Gohardasht prison in the city of Karaj violently raided the Section 6 of the prison. Under the pretext of carrying out an inspection, the guards sent some 1000 prisoner out in the cold in the priosn yard\u00a0without them having proper clothing.<\/p>\n
When they protested, the special guards at the prison commanded by prison officials Bagheri and Safari beat up the prisoners with batons, plastic pipes, and electric shockers. The guards also destroyed the prisoners\u2019 belongings.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day at a conference at the European Parliament in Brussels, Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance said there is no such thing as human rights in Iran. Since Rouhani became president, at least 1200\u00a0have been executed, including at least 8 adolescents.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Rajavi added that in the past 25 years, we have not seen as many executions as in the first year of Rouhani\u2019s presidency. Nor have we seen so many opposition members being massacred or taken hostage. Nor have we seen Iranian women being target of such criminal campaigns to this extent.<\/p>\n
Mrs Rajavi condemned the conduct of some Western governments that sacrifice human rights in Iran for their relations with the religious dictatorship.<\/p>\n
She said that any political and commercial ties with the Iranian regime should be subjected on improvement in the situation of human rights, and those responsible for the crimes, namely the regime leaders, must face justice;<\/p>\n
