U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, a potential 2016 presidential candidate said on Sunday he sees the Iranian regime a threat greater than the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re an evil regime,\u201d Graham said. \u201cA cold-blooded regime.\u201d<\/p>\n
He criticized the Obama administration that is currently participating in discussions with the Iranian regime to limit Tehran\u2019s nuclear program.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo deal is better than a bad deal,\u201d Graham said.<\/p>\n
Iran has \u201cdestabilized the region,\u201d he added, pointing to the ongoing civil war in Syria.<\/p>\n
Graham said: \u201cAssad is the puppet of Iran.\u201d<\/p>\n
Speaking on NBC\u2019s Meet the Press program on Sunday he said giving Iran any leeway by lifting sanctions will only encourage the regime to further destruction in the region, he added.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf they get more money from sanction relief, what would they do with it?\u201d Graham asked. \u201cAdvance their religious goals.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI fear them more than I fear [ISIS],\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
