NCRI – The Iranian Resistance’s President-elect Maryam Rajavi described the unprecedented escalation of arbitrary, mass executions across Iran, as an indication of the ruling regime’s despair in the face of irremediable social and political crises, also its fear of broad-based social discontent.<\/p>\n
She said: The leaders of Iran\u2019s ruling religious fascism are trying in vain to prevent escalation of popular protests and outpour of public outrage by resorting to ever more brutal repression to prevent the regime\u2019s downfall.Mrs. Rajavi expressed sympathy with the families of the victims, sixteen of whom were executed only yesterday in Qezel-Hessar and Oroumieh prisons. She called on Iran\u2019s brave youths, and public in general, to rise up and aid these families and protest the mullahs\u2019 unbridled barbarism.<\/p>\n
The total number of executions recorded during Rouhani’s tenure has reached 1700, Mrs. Rajavi stressed, adding: Khamenei and other leaders of the regime must be held accountable for their flagrant violations of human rights in Iran, especially the arbitrary, mass executions which are tantamount to crime against humanity.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Rajavi said: The international community’s silence and inaction over the systematic brutalities and abuses in Iran with the excuse of nuclear negotiations or else, tramples upon humanitarian values and human rights and further emboldens Iran\u2019s religious fascist regime in slaughtering the populace and continuing its efforts to acquire the nuclear bomb and export fundamentalism and terrorism.<\/p>\n
She called on all human rights advocates, especially in Europe and the United States, to counter the mounting number of executions in Iran and protest the western countries, silence and inaction.<\/p>\n
