\nNCRI – On June 8, as a group of Members of the European Parliament visited Iran, the Iranian regime\u2019s henchmen hanged at least 35 prisoners in prisons across the country.<\/p>\n
A group of eleven prisoners were executed on Monday in Ghezel-Hessar Prison. A number of Afghan and Iraqi citizens were also hanged in the same prison.<\/p>\n
A\u00a0group of at least 11 prisoners, including women, were hanged in the main prison in the city of Bandar Abbas.<\/p>\n
In addition, five prisoners in Karaj Central Prison, six prisoners in Urmia Prison, one prisoner in Qa\u2019em-Shahr Prison, and one prisoner in Adel-Abad Prison of Shiraz were executed.<\/p>\n
In a meeting with the members of the visiting EU delegation on Sunday, Javad Larijani, head of the Iranian regime\u2019s Human Rights Council in the judiciary, brazenly said: \u201cEuropeans know better than others that the main reason the rate of execution is high in our country is due to Iran\u2019s unremitting fight against the smuggling of drugs that its principal destinations are the capitals of EU member states.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cHowever, the Europeans who are so sensitive and complain about the implementation of the law in our country in combating drugs do not mind the massacre of innocent people by their regional allies and we have never seen expression of such feelings on their part regarding this issue,\u201d Larijani said according to a report on Monday by the state-run KhabarOnline website.<\/p>\n
The Iranian regime thoroughly controls drug trafficking and the regime\u2019s leaders are major international smugglers.<\/p>\n
Faced with domestic and external crises and an upsurge in social discontent, the Iranian regime has intensified the cycle of execution and torture to terrorize the population.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, emphasized last week that these collective and arbitrary executions are clear examples of crime against humanity.
\u201cKhamenei and other leaders of the regime must be held accountable for their flagrant violations of human rights,\u201d she said.
The international community’s silence and inaction over the systematic violation of human rights in Iran with the excuse of nuclear negotiations, tramples upon humanitarian values and human rights and further emboldens the religious dictatorship to continue its flagrant human rights abuses, efforts to acquire the nuclear bomb and export fundamentalism and terrorism.<\/p>\n
