\nNCRI – An Iranian cleric on Tuesday claimed that satellite dishes are more dangerous than nuclear bombs.<\/p>\n
Mullah Mir Ahmadi told Iranian state television: \u201cSatellite television is more dangerous than an atomic bomb.\u201d<\/p>\n
He claimed that that satellite channels are destroying the way people think, and he urged the regime\u2019s officials to launch new satellite channels propagating the regime\u2019s stances to combat the influence of anti-regime satellite channels.<\/p>\n
Despite regular crackdowns on satellite viewers, producers and distributors, regime officials have admit that increasing numbers of Iranians are watching satellite television channels in Iran.<\/p>\n
The Cultural Deputy of the regime\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said on January 29 that over 60 percent of Iranians watch satellite television channels.<\/p>\n
Earlier a representative of the regime\u2019s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in the IRGC compared the presence of the internet and satellites in Iranian people\u2019s houses to the ‘presence of the devil which causes mankind to deviate from the right path.’<\/p>\n
On February 8, Ali Jannati, the Minister of Islamic Culture and Guidance, acknowledged that the regime\u2019s efforts to prevent use of satellite TVs have failed.<\/p>\n
He said: “Wherever we collect the satellite dishes from rooftops, two days later the dishes are returned. It seems that we only create business for the dish installers.”<\/p>\n
But he warned: “The enemy is seeking to change the behavior of citizens, particularly youths, in Iran.”<\/p>\n
