There were other signs of damage as well, including mirrors that were still broken,&#8221;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/worldnews\/middleeast\/iran\/11819014\/Britains-embassy-in-Iran-re-opens-with-Death-to-England-still-graffitied-above-Queens-portrait.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"alternate noopener noreferrer\"> The Telegraph added<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"uk-embassy1-500\" class=\" size-full wp-image-43813\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/08\/uk-embassy1-500.jpg\" alt=\"Britain's embassy in Iran\" width=\"500\" height=\"313\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/uk-embassy1-500.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/uk-embassy1-500-300x188.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><br \/><strong>Britain&#8217;s embassy in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Paying the first visit to Iran by a UK Foreign Secretary for almost 12 years, Mr. Hammond declared on Sunday there &#8220;should be no limit&#8221; to what Britain and Iran could achieve together when he reopened the UK Embassy in Tehran.<\/p>\n<p>Britain has spent hundreds of thousands of pounds repairing the damage caused by the Iranian regime&#8217;s demonstrators almost four years ago. Even today, orange graffiti in the drawing room of the Ambassador&#8217;s residence reads: &#8220;Death to England.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Foreign Affairs Committee of the <a href=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/104076275379213468454\/posts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"alternate noopener noreferrer\">National Council of Resistance of Iran<\/a>\u00a0on Saturday said the British minister&#8217;s visit to Tehran amid mass executions would encourage more executions and betrays human rights and democratic values.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The visit of Mr. Philip Hammond, the British foreign minister, to Tehran and his meeting with leaders of the religious fascism ruling Iran encourages the clerical regime to continue and intensify torture and killing and export of terrorism and fundamentalism. This visit and similar ones are against the national interests and the will of the Iranian people to overthrow the regime and establish democracy and popular sovereignty in Iran,&#8221; the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/about\/our-resistance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"alternate noopener noreferrer\"> NCRI<\/a> Foreign Affairs Committee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/international\/18983-british-minister-s-visit-to-tehran-amid-mass-executions-and-meeting-with-officials-responsible-for-120-000-political-executions-encourages-more-executions-and-betrays-human-rights-and-democrati\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"alternate noopener noreferrer\">said in a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The clerical regime leaders whom Philip Hammond will meet are among the officials responsible for 120,000 political executions including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/1988-massacre-of-political-prisoners-in-iran\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"alternate noopener noreferrer\">massacre of 30,000 political prisoners<\/a>\u00a0in the summer of 1988 and the execution of more than 2000 prisoners during Rouhani&#8217;s tenure.
