Mr. Zamani was found dead in his prison cell on Sunday with his mouth full of blood and a bruised head. A 51-year-old labor activist and painter, Mr. Zamani was arrested in June 2011 and was being held Gohardasht (Rajai Shahr) prison in Karaj, north-west of Tehran.<\/p>\n<p>Watch the video clip of Iranian political prisoner Shahrokh Zamani and his cellmates discussing the rights of workers in Iran:<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2yw9KioAWAc&#8221; width=&#8221;640&#8243; height=&#8221;480&#8243; frameborder=&#8221;0&#8243; allowfullscreen=&#8221;allowfullscreen&#8221;&gt;<\/p>\n<p>Translation of Shahrokh Zamani\u2019s remarks in the video clip:<\/p>\n<p>-Shahrokh Zamani:<br \/>\u2026so that it would be in vain and bear no fruit and be more easily suppressed.<br \/>Refusing to issue permits to lawful demonstrations, severe suppression of strikes and demonstrations, giving heavy suspended-sentences to representatives of workers\u2026 with the highest figures of inflation, commodity prices, unemployment, temporary contracts\u2026 with salaries equaling a quarter of the poverty line, with 80% of the people living under the poverty line, addiction, divorce, depression, hunger\u2026 <br \/>Making a deal with the \u201cGreat Satan\u201d and drinking the \u201cchalice of poison\u201d, it threatened the strikes by the teachers and laborers.
