NCRI\u00a0– Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, has extended her condolences on the passing away of the renowned French philosopher Andr\u00e9 Glucksmann.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Rajavi consoled the people of France and especially his wife and son, describing him as one of the admirable symbols of protesting thought and philosophy who did not accept compromise with tyrannical regimes.<\/p>\n

She added: From his campaign to save the war refugees in Southeast Asia to his protests against the suppression and massacres in Chechnya, Bosnia and Syria, he always stood against the tyrants whom he described as cannibals in his last work. However, what grants him a special place in the historical memory of the people of Iran is this humanitarian philosopher\u2019s fervent defense of PMOI<\/a> freedom fighters in Ashraf<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In fact, he was the voice and cry of humanity\u2019s betrayed conscience against advocates of surrender and appeasement of dictators,<\/p>\n

When he said, \u201cIf we let the crimes against Ashraf continue in Iraq, then we will give a white card to the world\u2019s dictators, especially to the religious regime in Iran.\u201d<\/p>\n

When he said, \u201cI am indebted to the people who very soon started the resistance against tyranny in Iran and to the people who rose up in 2009.\u201d<\/p>\n

When he warned, \u201cIf we give up on Ashraf, we have in fact given up to a counterrevolution which is going on in China, Russia and Iran. This is the main issue: One should not surrender.\u201d<\/p>\n

When he stressed on \u201cphilosophical accountability\u201d and said, \u201cBy showing that beyond respecting one\u2019s own country, is respect for humanity. And when a government makes a mistake, this should be openly announced. When a government acts so cowardly, it is like turning a blind eye on reality that allows anything to happen. This must be spelled out.\u201d<\/p>\n

When he spoke of the \u201chonor of democracy\u201d and of human rights which stand \u201cbeyond the rights of governments.\u201d<\/p>\n

When he blamed the \u201ccrime of being indifferent\u201d and said, \u201cThere is a risk of being indifferent on our part, a criminal indifference and an illicit indifference.\u201d<\/p>\n

And when in reference to the Iranian people\u2019s uprisings in 2009, he said the people of Iran have begun a practical universal movement against the crime of indifference. He called on Western governments to stand by this movement and warned, \u201cOtherwise, they would place themselves beside the regimes of Iran, Iraq and Syria.\u201d<\/p>\n

And when in a brilliant article in Le Figaro, he gave a warning to appeasing governments and called on them \u201cto stop preparing for a useless excuse to justify their perpetual lack of sensitivity.\u201d<\/p>\n

We salute him who was the outspoken conscience of intellectuals of our age in the hope that despite his demise, his voice would spread and echo worldwide.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
