The US House of Representatives approved the \u201cIran Terror Finance Transparency Act,\u201d nearly three weeks after a similar vote was cancelled.<\/p>\n

The House narrowly passed the legislation last month, but the vote was voided after nearly a third of the chamber showed up too late to cast their votes.<\/p>\n

The \u201cIran Terror Finance Transparency Act,\u201d bars the removal of certain individuals and financial institutions from a restricted list until Obama administration certifies to Congress that they are not involved in Iran’s ballistic missile program or in terrorist activities.<\/p>\n

Following Tuesday\u2019s passage of the Iran Terror Finance Transparency, House Foreign Affairs Chairman Rep. Ed Royce said<\/a>: The regime in Tehran \u201cis cashing in on a $100 billion jackpot, even as it tests ballistic missiles, seizes American sailors and continues its support for terrorism. President Obama must keep his promise to \u2018fully enforce\u2019 sanctions on Iran\u2019s illicit programs and confront its dangerous acts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rep. Joe Barton said in a statement: \u201cAs a part of the Iran Nuclear Negotiations, President Obama agreed to provide certain individuals and organizations in Iran relief from sanctions. Some of these organizations could be connected with terrorist activities but this bill prohibits the president from providing relief for these groups until security concerns can be alleviated. Additionally, it allows greater Congressional oversight and approval.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis administration should not and cannot remove terrorist organizations from laundering concerns lists or provide relief of sanctions,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
