He notes that the only viable alternative to the theocracy is the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">The British Member of Parliament said: \u201c[NCRI President-elect] <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/maryam-rajavi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"alternate noopener noreferrer\">Maryam Rajavi<\/a>\u2019s program is one which is supported by many politicians in many countries in the West and we want to see real democracy in Iran, we want to see the ability of the Iranian people to choose its own government, free from intimidation, free from the pressure that the theocracy has been pressing on every election. I want to see Iran return to the democratic fold; the people deserve no less.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Mr. Fitzpatrick described the almost 1,000 executions by Iran\u2019s regime last year as \u201cobscene.\u201d According to Amnesty International, Iran has the highest per capita execution rate in the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Mr. Fitzpatrick, the former Minister for London, said: \u201cEvery new Iranian leader has been described as a moderate and even more moderate than the last leader but the number of executions continues to increase and there has not been a reduction in the number of people being arrested and there has been no reduction in the number of young people being arrested.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">The video was uploaded early this month on Iran Freedom\u2019s YouTube channel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NCRI- British lawmaker, Jim Fitzpatrick, raised concerns in a filmed interview, over the Iranian regime and how moderate it claims to be.
