NCRI – The following is the text of a report by London’s Evening Standard about a three-day hunger strike opposite Downing Street in solidarity with the victims of execution in Iran:<\/p>\n

Protesters mount hunger strike outside Downing Street over Iran regime’s executions<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hordes of protesters have entered the final day of a hunger strike outside Downing Street in a bid to convince the government to condemn \u201chorrific\u201d executions being carried out in Iran.<\/strong><\/p>\n
The three-day starvation demo began on Saturday to coincide with the anniversary of the 1988 massacre in which 30,000 political prisoners were slaughtered in the country.<\/p>\n
Over the weekend groups of Anglo-Iranians and British supporters flocked to Downing Street in anger at the execution of scores of Iranian nationals last week.<\/p>\n
The National Council of Resistance in Iran says more than 2,500 people have been hanged during the presidency of Hassan Rouhani, who assumed office in 2013.<\/p>\n
Protesters are urging the UK government to condemn \u201cexecutions and torture\u201d in the country.<\/p>\n
One protester, Omid Ebrahim, 18, told the Standard that despite hunger taking its toll it was \u201cworth it\u201d to achieve the group\u2019s goal.<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cWe are striking in solidarity with prisoners in Iran.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo matter how hard this is for us, it is nothing compared to the conditions they are facing.\u201d<\/p>\n
In an article, posted on their website, the NCRI said: \u201cHunger strikers and protesters are urging the UK government to categorically condemn the incessant cruel hangings that are taking place unabatedly in Iran and act with its Western allies to press for an immediate halt to the executions and torture in Iran.”<\/p>\n
