NCRI – Former European lawmaker from the United Kingdom, Struan Stevenson, spoke on August 26, 2016, of the need to bring to justice the perpetrators of the 1988 massacre in Iran.<\/p>\n
Some 30,000 political prisoners, primarily affiliated to the main Iranian opposition group People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK), were mass executed by the mullahs’ regime in the summer of 1988 based on a fatwa by Khomeini.<\/p>\n
Mr. Stevenson previously chaired the Friends of a Free Iran inter-group at the European Parliament where he was also the chairman of the Delegation for Relations with Iraq. He has championed the cause of freedom and democracy in Iran.\u00a0<\/p>\n
