They also expressed solidarity with the nationwide Iran protests and the MEK&#8217;s Resistance Units in Iran.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last weekend, Iranians both inside Iran and abroad took over the airwaves, as\u00a0a\u00a0prominent Iranian opposition satellite television channel that has played a vital role in broadcasting images of the recent Iran protests and the Iranian regime&#8217;s deadly crackdown held its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/iran-resistance\/27074-iranians-hold-telethon-for-opposition-tv-channel-that-s-covering-the-iran-protests\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">24th bi-annual telethon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Simaye Azadi (INTV) a 24-hour\u00a0free to\u00a0air,\u00a0satellite television station,\u00a0which broadcasts from Europe, has a huge following inside Iran and among the diaspora.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0INTV\u00a0telethon took place from\u00a0Friday, November 13\u00a0and\u00a0lasted four\u00a0days.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Iranians Hold <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Telethon?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Telethon<\/a> for Opposition TV Channel That\u2019s Covering the Iran Protests <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/hqcvhiiYzu\">https:\/\/t.co\/hqcvhiiYzu<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/IranProtests?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#IranProtests<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/FreeIran?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#FreeIran<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/simayazaditv?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@simayazaditv<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; NCRI-FAC (@iran_policy) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/iran_policy\/status\/1205931014482223104?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 14, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>During the bi-annual telethon, Iranians from across the globe expressed their full support\u00a0for the Iranian people\u2019s November uprising and the opposition group\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/pmoi-mek\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">People&#8217;s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, PMOI<\/a>, also known as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/pmoi-mek\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Mujahedin-e Khalq or MEK<\/a>.\u00a0Exiled Iranians also expressed solidarity with the risen people of Iran and the\u00a0nationwide\u00a0Iran protests\u00a0and the MEK&#8217;s Resistance Units\u00a0in Iran.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Iranian people and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/pmoi-mek\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MEK<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0Resistance\u00a0Units sent messages of support and gratitude\u00a0to the satellite television station.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The total amount of financial support provided reached $6.92 million, once again signaling the Iranian opposition\u2019s complete independence and their willingness to support those who are leading the effort to free them from religious tyranny.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kaveh from the northern Iranian city of Ramsar called in to say: \u201cMy dear countrymen. I am a worker who has felt injustice with my skin and bones. I appeal to each of my compatriots: Help Simaye Azadi. I am suffering from cancer. I ask everyone who\u2019s listening to each help $10 to INTV.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One caller from the southern Iranian city of Shiraz, which was the scene of huge anti-regime protests in November, said: \u201cSimaye Azadi is the voice of the voiceless. It\u2019s the voice of justice for our people. It\u2019s the voice of a people who\u2019ve been described [by the regime] as rioters and thugs so that they could be suppressed and murdered under this pretext. So, support for this voice is tantamount to supporting the rights of the Iranian people.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In addition to its financial independence provided by the help of viewers, the channel is also full of information and ideas by its community that participates either live in many programs, or by sending on social networks.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A very important characteristic of the INTV&#8217;s 24th telethon could be seen in the Iranian people\u2019s utter pride over the November Iran protests and the\u00a0MEK\u00a0Resistance Units&#8217; key role in further encouraging the Iranian people in their struggle against Iran&#8217;s regime. Exiled Iranians across the globe pledged their allegiance with their risen compatriots across Iran, especially the families of over 1,500 martyrs slain by the vicious mullahs\u2019 regime during the November Iran protests.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mrs.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/maryam-rajavi\/14237-maryam-rajavi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, the President-elect of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/our-resistance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)<\/a>, sent a message emphasizing how dear Iranians across the world welcomed this 24th INTV telethon and expressed their support for the overthrow of the Iranian regime. This is a strong indication of national solidarity and how Iranians yearn for freedom, and their admiration for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/pmoi-mek\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PMOI\/MEK<\/a>\u00a0and the network of\u00a0the\u00a0Resistance Units inside Iran, Mrs. Rajavi added.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/pmoi-mek\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MEK<\/a>\u00a0expressed\u00a0its utter gratitude for the support shown by millions of Iranians inside the country and abroad, and once again expressed\u00a0its absolute dedication to continuing the relentless struggle aimed at establishing freedom, democracy, human rights and equality for the proud people of Iran.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Iranian regime has\u00a0often\u00a0complained of the danger of satellite channels because of their popularity, especially Simaye Azadi, which is a very popular channel\u00a0inside Iran.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During the 24th telethon, Iranians from across the globe expressed their full support for the Iranian people&rsquo;s November uprising and the opposition group People&rsquo;s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK).
