The Treasury department froze Hezbollah\u2019s assets as a result.<\/p>\n<p>Move by UK&#8217;s Treasury to add Lebanon&#8217;s Hezbollah to asset freezing registry follows March 2019 interior ministry decision not to distinguish between the group&#8217;s political and military wings.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry previously had proscribed the Shiite organisation&#8217;s military wing but has now listed the entire group as a terrorist organization.<\/p>\n<p>Hezbollah was founded by the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/terrorism-fundamentalism\/26779-iran-s-regime-is-the-world-s-foremost-threat-to-peace-and-security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0Iranian regime\u2019s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC)<\/a>\u00a0in 1982, and has played a key role in conducting terrorist activities on behalf of the regime in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Hezbollah was under\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/terrorism-fundamentalism\/27186-obituary-to-a-mass-killer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Qassem Soleimani<\/a>\u2019s command as the chief of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/terrorism-fundamentalism\/26779-iran-s-regime-is-the-world-s-foremost-threat-to-peace-and-security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IRGC Quds force<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>During the criminal war in Syria,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/terrorism-fundamentalism\/27175-who-was-the-vicious-criminal-qassem-soleimani\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Qassem Soleimani<\/a>\u00a0used Hezbollah mercenaries to fight the Syrian rebels. Based on reports, at least 2,000\u00a0Hezbollah\u00a0fighters were deployed in Syria, under Quds force\u2019s command and were part of the forces that saved Assad\u2019s dictatorship in power, using brutal tactics, destroying the towns and villages and massacring the civilians.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/terrorism-fundamentalism\/26268-iran-regime-s-proxy-hezbollah-in-trouble-due-to-sanctions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hezbollah openly<\/a>\u00a0supports the Houthi militias and its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, has even gone to the extent of saying: \u201cI am ashamed to not be among you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the Washington Post, Hezbollah&#8217;s fighters faced financial challenges as a result of the U.S. sanctions, and due to salary cuts many had to withdraw from Syria where they &#8220;played an instrumental role in fighting on behalf of President Bashar al-Assad and ensuring his survival.\u201d<br \/>\n<br \/>https:\/\/twitter.com\/iran_policy\/status\/1134378356420546560<\/p>\n<p>The new proscription requires any individual or institution in Britain with accounts or financial services connected to Hezbollah to suspend them or face prosecution, a spoke person for the Treasury department said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This listing includes the Military Wing, the Jihad Council and all units reporting to it, including the External Security Organisation.&#8221; The spoke person added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Britain designated the whole organization of Hezbollah in Lebanon a Terrorist Written by&nbsp;Mohammad Sadat Khansari&nbsp;on&nbsp;17 January 2020.
