{"id":212837,"date":"2020-01-14T20:46:09","date_gmt":"2020-01-14T20:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/?p=212837"},"modified":"2023-01-22T02:19:00","modified_gmt":"2023-01-22T01:19:00","slug":"anglo-iranians-mek-and-ncri-supporters-hold-rally-in-solidarity-with-iran-protests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/uncategorized\/anglo-iranians-mek-and-ncri-supporters-hold-rally-in-solidarity-with-iran-protests\/","title":{"rendered":"Anglo Iranians, MEK and NCRI Supporters Hold Rally in Solidarity With Iran Protests"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"January, 13, 2019 London: NCRI and MEK Supporters Hold Rally in Solidarity with Iran Protests\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/January_13_2019_London-_NCRI_and_MEK_Supporters_Hold_Rally_in_Solidarity_with_Iran_Protests.jpg\" alt=\"Anglo Iranians, MEK and NCRI Supporters Hold Rally in\" \/><\/p>\n<p><small><strong>January, 13, 2019 London: NCRI and MEK Supporters Hold Rally in Solidarity with Iran Protests<\/strong><\/small><\/p>\n<p>Written by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/component\/contact\/contact\/4?Itemid=490\">Mansoureh Galestan<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a014 January 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Anglo Iranian communities and supporters of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/pmoi-mek\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI, Mujahedin-e Khalq or MEK)<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ncr-iran.org\/en\/alternative\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)<\/a>\u00a0on Monday staged a protest\u00a0outside\u00a0Downing\u00a0Street\u00a0in London in solidarity with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/iran-protests\/27225-iran-protests-continue-for-third-consecutive-day\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">nationwide Iran protests<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/pmoi-mek\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MEK\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ncr-iran.org\/en\/alternative\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NCRI\u00a0<\/a>supporters gathered outside Number 10 Downing Street on Monday, January 13, in support of the popular\u00a0protests against\u00a0the regime and the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) following IRGC\u2019s admission this weekend that it had shot down the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/terrorism-fundamentalism\/27210-the-reluctant-confession-of-irgc-s-aerospace-force-commander-continuation-of-the-regime-s-lies-and-deception\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ukrainian passenger plane<\/a>. The participants urged the UK Government\u00a0and Prime Minister\u00a0to recognize and support the democratic aspirations of the Iranian people for democratic change in Iran.<\/p>\n<p>Protesters also expressed their support\u00a0for the call by\u00a0Mrs.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/maryam-rajavi\/14237-maryam-rajavi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Maryam Rajavi<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/ncr-iran.org\/en\/alternative\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0NCRI<\/a>\u2019s president-elect, on the international community to acknowledge the reality that the religious fascism ruling Iran does not represent the Iranian\u00a0people and\u00a0recognize the Iranian people\u2019s right to overthrow this regime.<\/p>\n<p>MEK and NCRI supporters also paid tribute to the victims of the airplane crash and over 1500 martyrs of the nationwide Iran protests in November.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Hossein Abedini, a member of the NCRI\u2019s Foreign Affairs Committee,\u00a0told the gathering: The protest by thousands of Iranians in Tehran and a number of other cities last night and today, in which people were chanting slogans like \u2018Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, resign, resign,\u2019 makes it palpably clear that the Iranian people demand the mullahs\u2019 overthrow.\u201d<br \/>\n<br \/>https:\/\/twitter.com\/HoAbedini\/status\/1216859658377474048<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe protests undercut the regime\u2019s propaganda subsequent to the termination of Qassem Soleimani. Not only the protesters tore down his posters in Tehran and elsewhere, but they also chanted \u2018Soleimani is a murderer, so is his leader (Ali Khamenei).\u2019 They condemned the shooting down of the Ukrainian airliner and lashed out at the regime for lying about it,\u201d he added.<br \/>\n<br \/>https:\/\/twitter.com\/HoAbedini\/status\/1216859047288283136<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the aftermath of the November anti-regime protests in 191 cities throughout Iran in which the regime killed more than 1,500 protesters, wounded 4,000 and arrested 12,000, the tide has turned against the regime,\u201d Mr. Abedini concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Protesters in London held signs which read: \u201cYes to Rajavi, No to Khamenei,\u201d and\u00a0\u201cWe\u00a0condemn Iran regime\u2019s brutal crackdown on the anti-regime protests and killing of protesters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The MEK and NCRI\u2019s supporters gathering in London received vast media coverage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>January, 13, 2019 London: NCRI and MEK Supporters Hold Rally in Solidarity with Iran Protests Written by&nbsp;Mansoureh Galestan&nbsp;on&nbsp;14 January 2020.
