{"id":21292,"date":"2016-10-14T19:13:41","date_gmt":"2016-10-14T18:13:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/issues\/economy\/21292-half-of-iranian-population-deprived-of-sewer-network"},"modified":"2023-01-16T20:15:01","modified_gmt":"2023-01-16T19:15:01","slug":"half-of-iranian-population-deprived-of-sewer-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/economy\/half-of-iranian-population-deprived-of-sewer-network\/","title":{"rendered":"Half of Iranian population deprived of sewer network"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"caspian-sea\" class=\" size-full wp-image-47147\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2016\/10\/caspian-sea.jpg\" alt=\"caspian-sea\" width=\"450\" height=\"291\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/caspian-sea.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/caspian-sea-300x194.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>An official in the Ministry of Energy in Mullah Rouhani\u2019s government has said that about 55 percent of Iran\u2019s population are deprived of a sewerage network.<\/p>\n<p>State-run Mehr news agency in Iran has quoted Behnam Vakili, the director of the regime\u2019s Ministry of Power\u2019s The Department of Monitoring the Operation of Wastewater Projects, on Wednesday October 12 as saying: \u201con average, about 44.5 percent of Iran\u2019s urban population are covered by sewer network while less than one percent of rural population in the country, namely around 70,000 people, have access to such network and about 48,000 people have been provided with wastewater treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>These statements come at a time when the Iranian regime\u2019s head of the Department of Environment had announced in 2015 that there were six modern, operating wastewater treatment units in Tehran alone which would suffice 550,000 people.<\/p>\n<p>According to the current statistics, parts of urban areas in only 18 percent of Iran\u2019s cities are covered by a sewer network. In other cases, household wastewaters, including blackwater and greywater, are collected using absorbing wells while in many cases they are poured into the rivers, conduits, lakes and seas. The regime\u2019s official said that a lack of financial resources has been the most important factor to delay constructing wastewater treatment plants.<\/p>\n<p>The regime\u2019s officials at all levels are engaged in plundering billions of the country\u2019s wealth and resources whereas every once in a while in clashes between rival factions, a number of billion-dollar embezzlements are revealed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An official in the Ministry of Energy in Mullah Rouhani&rsquo;s government has said that about 55 percent of Iran&rsquo;s population are deprived of a sewerage network.
