Javad Zarif and Qassem Soleimani<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

On Friday, a notorious criminal and\u00a0the world\u2019s\u00a0number one terrorist,\u00a0Qassem Soleimani<\/a>,\u00a0was killed in a United States\u00a0airstrike in Iraq.\u00a0Soleimani\u00a0<\/a>was the commander of the terrorist Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).<\/p>\n

The people of Iran and millions of citizens\u00a0around\u00a0the world rejoiced after his death, and the Iranian regime received an irreparable blow. One of those people who wholeheartedly mourned Soleimani was\u00a0Mohammad\u00a0Javad Zarif, the regime\u2019s so-called \u201cmoderate\u201d foreign minister.<\/p>\n

Zarif\u2019s mourning over Soleimani\u2019s death\u00a0exposes the reality that\u00a0moderation and moderates inside the regime are fictional and\u00a0the\u00a0regime\u2019s apologists such as Zarif and terrorists like Soleimani are two sides of\u00a0the\u00a0same\u00a0coin.<\/p>\n

Zarif, as a close friend of Qassem Soleimani,\u00a0wrote on Twitter:\u00a0\u201cThe US\u2019s act of international terrorism, targeting & assassinating General Soleimani- the most effective force fighting Daesh\u202fAl Qaeda et al- is extremely dangerous & a foolish escalation. The US bears responsibility for all consequences of its rogue adventurism.\u201d<\/p>\n

On\u00a0several occasions,\u00a0Zarif had praised Soleimani.<\/p>\n

In an interview with the state-run daily\u00a0Entekhab\u00a0on September 1, 2019, Zarif\u00a0said:\u00a0\u201cCommander Soleimani and I never felt we have any differences. We have been working together closely for over 20 years\u2026During the U.S. attack on Iraq, as Iran\u2019s representative in New York, I \u2026 had the greatest coordination with commander Soleimani. Subsequently, when I became minister, the two of us decided to make sure we meet at least once a week when we were both in Tehran to review the latest developments and undertake the necessary coordination.\u201d<\/p>\n

On November 5, 2018, Zarif\u00a0told the\u00a0regime\u2019s Parliament:\u00a0\u201cWe are not a system that operates on its own\u2026 How can we do anything in this country without reporting it? It is not as though we have sought to do anything contrary to the wishes of His Eminence the\u00a0[Supreme]\u00a0Leader.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zarif\u00a0<\/a>had also congratulated Soleimani over receiving a special military order from\u00a0the\u00a0regime\u2019s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.<\/p>\n

Zarif\u2019s support\u00a0for\u00a0terrorism is not limited to\u00a0his relationship with Soleimani.\u00a0When the U.S. designated the IRGC as a terrorist organization\u00a0in April 2019, Zarif went to the IRGC\u2019s headquarters and expressed his full support for the terrorists.\u00a0He said\u00a0this meeting was an honor\u00a0for\u00a0him.<\/p>\n

In July 2015, in meetings with Syrian dictator\u00a0Bashar Al-Assad\u00a0in Damascus and\u00a0Hizballah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut, Zarif praised them for \u201cfighting terrorism\u201d and coordinating for suppressing and killing Syrian people. In January 2014, he paid tribute to\u00a0top Hizballah terrorist\u00a0Imad Mughniyeh\u00a0and\u00a0laid a wreath on his grave.<\/p>\n

Zarif\u00a0has\u00a0not\u00a0just expressed\u00a0his support\u00a0for\u00a0terrorists;\u00a0he\u00a0has also used\u00a0his ministry\u2019s facilities\u00a0to provide diplomatic cover for\u00a0the\u00a0regime\u2019s terrorists\u00a0and facilitate their operations.\u00a0In June\u00a02018,\u00a0the Iranian\u00a0regime\u2019s so-called \u201cdiplomat\u201d Assadolah\u00a0Assadi\u00a0and three other terrorists were arrested, while attempting to bomb\u00a0the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)<\/a>\u00a0at the annual \u201cFree Iran\u201d gathering in Paris.<\/p>\n

Zarif\u2019s European trip in August\u00a02019\u00a0was met with various protests by Iranians.\u00a0Following these protests, Zarif became angry and threatened the Iranian dissidents\u00a0with\u00a0death, saying they will be \u201ceaten alive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Given\u00a0all this,\u00a0as\u00a0the\u00a0NCRI\u2019s president-elect Mrs.\u00a0Maryam\u00a0<\/a>Rajavi<\/a>\u00a0stated after the death of Soleimani on Friday:\u00a0\u201cThe international community, especially the European Union, must end the policy of appeasement and recognize the right of the Iranian people to resist and rise for freedom to replace popular sovereignty in place of the mullahs\u2019 rule.\u201d<\/p>\n
