Since the Coronavirus outbreak<\/a><\/span>\u00a0in Iran<\/a>, the clerical regime<\/span>, instead of taking preventive and necessary measures<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0has\u00a0<\/span>resorted to more secrecy, which has\u00a0<\/span>resulted in over 1200 death<\/a><\/span>s<\/a> and turning Iran\u00a0<\/span>in<\/span>to the epicenter of COVID-19<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

T<\/span>he People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI<\/a><\/span>, Mujahedin-e Khalq or\u00a0<\/span><\/a>MEK)<\/a> announced on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, that as of 8:00 pm local time, the death toll from Coronavirus had exceeded 1,200.<\/span>\u00a0Most of the victims are from City of Qom. The report indicate 300 victims in Qom, 215 in Tehran, 70 in Rasht, 12 in Lahijan, 6 in Astaneh, 60 in Mashhad, 43 in Isfahan, 23 in Kashan, 10 in Dastgerd, 54 in\u00a0<\/span>Gorgan<\/span>, 45 in Arak, 45 in Kermanshah, 38 in Shiraz, 39 in Karaj, 23 in Khorramabad, 20 in Qazvin, 10 in Zahedan, 16 in Iranshahr, 12 in\u00a0<\/span>Boushehr<\/span>,\u00a0 and more than 100 in Mazandaran province have lost their lives.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>fast<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Coronavirus<\/span>\u00a0outbreak in Iran and its transmission to other countries around the world is the result of<\/span>\u00a0the regime\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0weeks-long cover-up, lies, and misleading information\u00a0<\/span>fed\u00a0<\/span>to the public.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While all other countries\u00a0<\/span>prevented any flight from or to China,\u00a0<\/span>according to the\u00a0<\/span>flighttrader24, an online flight tracker platform,\u00a0<\/span>flights from Iran to China, by the\u00a0<\/span>Mahanair<\/span>\u00a0airline continues<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span>Mahanair<\/span>\u00a0belongs to the regime\u2019s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On February 28, authorities of the\u00a0<\/span>Queensland<\/span>\u00a0state in Australia\u00a0<\/span>said\u00a0<\/span>that a 63<\/span>–<\/span>year<\/span>–<\/span>old woman, who had recently come Iran,\u00a0<\/span>wa<\/span>s diagnosed with COVID-19.\u00a0<\/span>In a similar development,\u00a0<\/span>according to the New<\/span>\u00a0Zealand<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>authorities, the first person in this country who had been diagnosed with the coronavirus\u00a0<\/span>had come<\/span>\u00a0from Iran.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Iranian regime\u2019s state-run media outlets also wrote on March 1:\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>Canadian officials said last week that seven\u00a0<\/span>of their<\/span>\u00a0citizens<\/span>\u00a0returning<\/span>\u00a0from Iran had been\u00a0<\/span>diagnosed<\/span>\u00a0with the Coronavirus<\/span>.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In additions,\u00a0<\/span>the New York Times wrote on February 28: \u201cInfections in neighboring countries and even some as far as Canada, Norway and New Zealand have been traced to Iran.\u201d The Associated Press also reported: \u201cAll of Bahrain\u2019s cases link back to Iran.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the\u00a0<\/span>rising death toll of the Coronavirus in Iran and regime\u2019s inaction and cover-up,<\/span>\u00a0the regime\u2019s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, blatantly tried to downplay the crisis, calling it a \u201cblessing,\u201d while praising th<\/span>e regime officials<\/span>\u2019<\/span>\u00a0so-called \u201c<\/span>t<\/span>ransparency.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0He said:\u00a0<\/span>\u201cT<\/span>his is not such a big catastrophe, and we have had bigger ones.” This is a ” passing issue” and nothing “e<\/span>xtraordinary.<\/span>” He continued<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0“Our officials have been informing the public since the first day with confidence, honesty, and transparency and have kept the public informed, but some other countries where the virus outbreak is more\u00a0<\/span>severe<\/span>\u00a0and epidemic are hiding the problem.”\u00a0<\/span>In\u00a0<\/span>addition,<\/span>\u00a0on Tuesday, A<\/span>li\u00a0<\/span>Rabiei<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>a<\/span>\u00a0spokesman for\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>regime\u2019s president Hassan<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Rouhani, claimed that the Iranian regime had the most transparent approach to Corona.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard,\u00a0<\/span>Mrs. Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)<\/a>, referring to Khamenei\u2019s disgraceful comment, said<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0\u201cThe only thing that matters for this regime and its officials is to k<\/span>eep their grip on power. People\u2019s lives, health, and resources have no value for the ruling mullahs. The Iranian people have suffered the greatest damage and losses under their rule, as a result of external war, domestic repression, poverty, unemployment, and illnesses.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is while<\/span>\u00a0the extent and the dimension of\u00a0<\/span>the Coronavirus outbreak in Iran has\u00a0<\/span>forced the regime\u2019s officials to admit<\/span>\u00a0to some aspects of this crisis.\u00a0<\/span>For example,\u00a0<\/span>Masoud\u00a0<\/span>Pezeshkian<\/span>, first deputy speaker of regime\u2019s parliament, and former health minister admitted<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0“We should have quarantined Qom from day one… this disease is not a joke, the way we are dealing with it.” \u201cHospitals are overflowing and there is\u00a0<\/span>no room for more patients, and it will get worse day by day. The economy and everything will be ruined, it is no joke. What would have happened if they shut down the country for 15 days? (referring to the first outbreak in the city of Qom<\/a>). If we did it the first day, it would not have spread to the entire country.\u201d He added<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0\u201cThe numbers given are not real, because a number of patients have no symptoms. We find 95 people and two die, then we say 2 have died out of a 100, while it may be that only 2% of 10,000 have died<\/span>,<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>Pezeshkian<\/span>\u00a0said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Given the horrifi<\/span>c outcome, the rising death toll and the rapid spread and transmission of the Coronavirus in Iran and to other countries, it is the international community\u2019s duty to\u00a0<\/span>help the Iranian people to avoid\u00a0<\/span>an international crisis.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A<\/span>s Mrs. Maryam Rajavi<\/a><\/span>\u00a0ha<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0said: \u201cThe United Nations, World Health Organization, and other international human rights organizations must compel the religious fascism ruling Iran to make public all the facts and figures regarding COVID-19 and provide them to relevant international organizations in order to save the lives of the people of Iran and other countries in the region.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
