After days of denial and downplaying the Coronavirus outbreak in Iran, the regime\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>Deputy Health Minister\u00a0<\/span>Ghasem<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Janbabaei<\/span>\u00a0admitted in an interview\u00a0<\/span>on\u00a0<\/span>state\u00a0<\/span>TV that \u201c<\/span>o<\/span>ver 12,000 people have been hospitalized after being diagnosed with the coronavirus and this is only 20 percent of the individuals who have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

\u201cLess than 20 percent of individuals testing positive for t<\/span>he coronavirus actually enter hospitals.\u00a0<\/span>Some\u00a0<\/span>80 percent of individuals who are infected with the coronavirus either have slight symptoms or their conditions allow them to remain at home,\u201d\u00a0<\/span>Janbabei<\/span>\u00a0said.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Yet, regime continues its campaign of downplaying the casualties of this deadly virus.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the reports obtained by the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI, Mujahedin-e Khalq or MEK)<\/a><\/span>\u00a0from inside Iran,\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>Coronavirus\u00a0<\/span>death\u00a0<\/span>toll<\/span>\u00a0in Iran<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>exceed<\/span>ed<\/span>\u00a0650 as of Sunday<\/span>\u00a0night.\u00a0<\/span>The MEK\u2019s r<\/span>eports also confirm that over\u00a0<\/span>300 have lost their lives in the city of Qom<\/span>\u00a0alone<\/span>, where the\u00a0<\/span>virus was first detected<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

As was previously stated by the\u00a0<\/a><\/span>National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)<\/span><\/a>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>this horrific figure is due\u00a0<\/span>to the \u201c<\/span>regime covering up the spread of Coronavirus in the city during the sham Parliamentary election<\/span>.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, the NCRI\u2019s president-elect<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>extended her most profound condolences to the Iranian people, particularly the residents of Qom. She called on the world community to voice sympathy with the people of Iran and to take urgent action to save the lives and well-being of the people of Qom.<\/span><\/p>\n

With utmost regret, the number of victims of #Coronavirus<\/a> (Covid-19) in Qom has been rising quickly. My condolences to the people of #Iran<\/a> and esp. the dear people of #Qom<\/a>. As an example, the\u00a0<\/span>re<\/span>gime\u2019s interior minister,\u00a0<\/span>Ab<\/span>dolreza<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Rahmani<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Fazli<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0admitted on February 23 that<\/span>\u00a0\u201c<\/span>Some people recommended that we postpone the election. Regarding Qom, they insisted we postpone the election in the city. As the official responsible for the election, I did not accept any of these (recommendations).\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>Coronavirus outbreak in Iran\u00a0<\/span>rapidly gr<\/span>e<\/span>w because of the regime\u2019s secrecy and covering up the extent and dimension<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0of the disaster and simultaneously not taking any preventive and<\/span>\u00a0necessary medical\u00a0<\/span>steps. Instead, the regime\u2019s officials one after another tried to downplay this\u00a0<\/span>crisis.\u00a0<\/span>In this regard,\u00a0<\/span>on<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>February 24, after<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Ahmad\u00a0<\/span>Amirabadi<\/span>\u00a0Farahani<\/span>, the\u00a0<\/span>regime\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>lawmaker\u00a0<\/span>from the city of Qom<\/a> admitted to over\u00a0<\/span>50\u00a0<\/span>deaths in Qom due to<\/span>\u00a0the COVID-<\/span>19\u00a0<\/span>virus<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>r<\/span>egime\u2019s Deputy Health Minister\u00a0<\/span>Iraj<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Haririchi<\/span>\u00a0in a press conference<\/span>\u00a0on the same day<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>rejected\u00a0<\/span>Farahani\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>revelations<\/span>. In a moment of extraordinary irony,\u00a0<\/span>Harirchi<\/span>\u00a0then began to exhibit signs of coronavirus in that same press conference, before confirming\u00a0<\/span>the following day\u00a0<\/span>that he tested positive for the\u00a0<\/span>virus<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Reports from inside Iran confirm that the\u00a0<\/span>regime had dedicated all the\u00a0<\/span>medical<\/span>\u00a0facilities to its suppressive forces\u00a0<\/span>and officials. This is while shocking videos from Iran show ordinary people falling<\/span>\u00a0on the ground\u00a0<\/span>after\u00a0<\/span>being infected with the Coronavirus.\u00a0<\/span>Reports further confirm\u00a0<\/span>that the best medical resources have been allocated to Iranian regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, other regime officials and the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC). On February 27, the state-run Khabar\u00a0<\/span>Fouri<\/span>\u00a0website reported coronavirus\u00a0<\/span>test kits were transferred to the home of Vice President Masoumeh Ebtekar<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and all her colleagues and family members were tested.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Iranian regime is pursuing the same narrative\u00a0<\/span>of shooting down the Ukrainian passenger jet<\/a> earlier this y<\/span>ear<\/span>. Th<\/span>e airliner was downed by the\u00a0<\/span>I<\/span><\/a>RGC<\/a>, yet\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>regime denied this for three consecutive days. The regime was forced to admit to committing this crime, as it is now forced to\u00a0<\/span>declare<\/span>\u00a0the number of those infected with the Coronavirus. Regime\u2019s admitting to shooting down the Ukrainian passenger jet<\/span>\u00a0triggered the explosive\u00a0<\/span>Iranian\u00a0<\/span>society,<\/span>\u00a0and resulted in mass protests across Iran, with the university students a<\/span>t<\/span>\u00a0their forefront.\u00a0<\/span>The regime\u2019s secrecy regarding the dimension<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0and extent of the COVID-19 crisis is due to the regime\u2019s fear of another public outrage or popular protest.<\/span>\u00a0The general boycott of the regime\u2019s sham parliamentary elections<\/span>\u00a0and<\/span>\u00a0regime\u2019s deadly crackdown o<\/span>n<\/span>\u00a0the Iran protests in November by killing 1500 people<\/span>\u00a0have left no doubt for the regime and the international community that the Iranian people only desire the downfall of this regime and the next uprising will lead to the regime\u2019s ultimate downfall, particularly as the regime grapples with unprecedented international isolation<\/span>\u00a0and regional defeats due to the ongoing protests in Iraq and the situation in Syria and Lebanon.<\/span><\/p>\n

#Iran<\/a>: #Coronavirus<\/a> Death Toll Exceeds 650 https:\/\/t.co\/MaDAPPUSWf<\/a>#FreeIran2020<\/a>#IranRegimeChange<\/a><\/p>\n

In this regard<\/span>,<\/span> NCRI <\/a>president-elect Mrs. Rajavi<\/a> said:\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>The mullahs\u2019 regime is besieged by mounting social protests. The Iranian people rejected Khamenei through their resounding NO to the mullahs\u2019 most scandalous election farce.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>And the inclusion of the regime in FATF\u2019s blacklist has put the mullahs in a financial stranglehold.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Iraq, which Khamenei had declared as the regime\u2019s strategic depth has seen the eruption of a major uprising against its Iranian-proxy rulers. The brave women of Iraq are also playing an important role in those protests.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

T<\/span>he regime is neither capable nor willing to resolve the Coronavirus outbreak crisis<\/span>. It is the international community\u2019s duty to\u00a0<\/span>act and help the Iranian people.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0The Coronavirus outbreak in Iran is not\u00a0<\/span>just a domestic crisis for the Iranian people. Th<\/span>e origin<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0of the cases<\/span>\u00a0discovered in the\u00a0<\/span>United States and other countries in the Middle East are from Iran.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mrs.\u00a0<\/span><\/a>Rajav<\/a>i has repeatedly called for the immediate dispatch of WHO monitoring and treatment missions to Iran. She praised the dedicated medical staff and urged them to do whatever they can to assist the helpless people. “Medical and healthcare facilities should be removed from the IRGC\u2019s monopoly and provided to the physicians, hospitals, and the public,” Mrs. Rajavi added.<\/span><\/p>\n
