Floodwaters rising in cities across Lorestan Province, western Iran.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Iran, February 26, 2020\u2014<\/b>Cities throughout Lorestan Province in western Iran are witnessing rising floodwaters following seasonal rains. A thousand homes in the city of Poledokhtar have been evacuated in the past few days, according to a report wired by the semi-official Tasnim news agency citing the city mayor. Waters from the Kashkan River will be entering Poledokhtar if further rains continue, the report adds.<\/p>\n

Roads leading to 150 villages around the city of Aligudarz, 70 villages near Delfan, 60 villages near Kuhdasht, 15 villages near Poledokhtar and 20 villages near Chegeni have been blocked due to the rising floodwaters.<\/p>\n

Iranian opposition President Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, head of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>), called on Iranian youths to rush to the support of flood-hit areas.<\/p>\n

\u201cI call on all valiant youths of Lorestan, Ilam and other western provinces to launch a national solidarity effort to deal with the floods and aid the flood-stricken compatriots. Young people must take the initiative and rush to the aid of our flood-hit compatriots. The facilities usurped by the clerical regime must be placed at the disposal of the public. The doctor, who has been identified as Dr. Behrouz Keleidar, is seemingly talking to a group of other doctors in the central Iranian city.<\/p>\n

Death of a nurse and two other women due to Corona infection<\/h3>\n

Narges Khanalizadeh, 25 and a nurse, died at Milad Hospital of Lahijan on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 due to Corona infection. The tests of two women who died in Saveh were also positive.<\/p>\n

One of the authorities of Milad Hospital said Narges Khanalizadeh had died due to flu, but she had died due to Corona infection and lack of the necessary equipment for physicians and nurses in the hospital. (The state-run Fars news agency \u2013 February 25, 2020)<\/p>\n

On the deaths of the two other women, the president of the Medical Sciences University of Saveh, Abbas Nikravesh, told the state-run ISNA news agency that the first case belonged to an 82-year-old woman who had a heart condition, kidney condition and a chronic blood disease. She had referred to Modarress Hospital with acute respiratory symptoms and fever, and died after one day.<\/p>\n

The second case was an 87-year-odl woman who had heart, lung, liver and kidney problems. She also referred to Chamran Hospital with acute respiratory problems. She died after two days of being hospitalized. (The state-run ISNA news agency \u2013 February 25, 2020)<\/p>\n
