The<\/span> network<\/span> of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI, Mujahedin-e-Khalq or MEK)<\/a><\/span>\u00a0reported that <\/span>late Tuesday<\/span>, <\/span>February 1<\/span>8<\/span>, 2020, <\/span>residents of <\/span>Dahmetri<\/span> S<\/span>treet<\/span> in <\/span>Alvand<\/span> city, the eastern province of Qazvin, <\/span>torched the advertising banners of <\/span>one of the <\/span>mullah<\/span>\u2019s <\/span>parliamentary elections<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the same day, <\/span>citizens of the\u00a0<\/span>eastern city of <\/span>Sanandaj<\/span>, <\/span>Amin <\/span>S<\/span>q<\/span>uare<\/span>,<\/span> in Kurdistan, <\/span>t<\/span>o<\/span>re<\/span> the <\/span>banners of another regime candidate.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

MEK <\/a>sources also reported that <\/span>o<\/span>n Tuesday, <\/span>February<\/span> 18<\/span>th<\/span>, <\/span>the brave youth of<\/span> Kazerun<\/span>, <\/span>attacked <\/span>the headquarters of<\/span> the regime\u2019s<\/span> candidate<\/span> in <\/span>Kazer<\/span>u<\/span>n<\/span> city<\/span>,<\/span> province of Fars. The<\/span> defiant <\/span>youth broke the windows<\/span>,<\/span> tore<\/span> and torched the <\/span>advertising banners.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Iran, February 19, 2020<\/span><\/b>\u2014The spokesperson for the Iranian regime\u2019s judiciary declared on Tuesday that a court of appeals has upheld the prison sentences of eight environmentalists who have been collectively sentenced to 58 years in prison. The prisoners had been in detention since 2018. The move is seen as a bid by the Iranian regime to intimidate the public <\/span>before the parliamentary elections<\/span><\/b><\/a>, due on Friday.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Gholamhossein Esmaili, the judiciary spokesperson, said in a press conference that the sentenced environmentalists were involved in \u201ca case of acting against national security\u201d and are charged with espionage against the regime. The Iranian regime\u2019s judiciary has a long history of using dubious \u201cnational security\u201d and \u201cwaging war against god\u201d charges to dole out heavy punishments to prisoners, especially political dissidents.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
