In a statement, Iranian\u00a0<\/span>national\u00a0<\/span>athletes and heroes, such as Moslem Eskandar Filabi, former Iranian wrestling champion<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0holder of 17 medals and chairman of the\u00a0<\/span>Sports Committee of the\u00a0<\/a><\/span>National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>have\u00a0<\/span>called\u00a0<\/span>for a<\/span>\u00a0boycot<\/span>t of<\/span>\u00a0the Iranian regime\u2019s sham parliamentary elections on February 21. The statement is as follows:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For popular sovereignty and the destruction of the religious fascism\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our vote is overthrow!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

To the brave and risen people of Iran\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Boycotting the Iranian regime\u2019s sham parliamentary elections<\/a> is a national and patriotic duty for all the Iranians, athletes, and sports lovers. It is also a sign of solidarity and a tribute to the blood of over 1500 young men and women martyrs of the Iran protests in November 2019; and over 120 thousand martyrs and hundreds of thousands of those who were arrested, tortured and sacrificed their lives for a free Iran and the Iranian regime\u2019s downfall.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
