NCRI –\u00a0A group of protesters against imprisonment of \u2018Mohammad Ali Taheri\u2019, held a protest gathering in front of the UN office in Tehran on Sunday October 30, asking for the release of the founder of \u2018The Ring Mysticism\u2019.<\/p>\n
The demonstrators gathered at noon on Sunday 30 October in front of the UN office in Tehran\u2019s Shahrzad Boulevard, expressing their concern over the uncertain status of the prisoner of conscience by holding pictures of Mohammad Ali Taheri and placards which read \u2018Mohammad Ali Taheri\u2019s life in danger\u2019and \u2018we want Mohammad Ali Taheri released\u2019.<\/p>\n
They demanded that the UN officials ask the regime\u2019s authorities to put an end to the unjust and illegal imprisonment of Mohammad Ali Taheri.
The gathering was held on the 33rd day of Taheri\u2019s hunger strike which has raised concerns over his health status.<\/p>\n
It should be pointed out that neither his family nor his students have any info on Taheri\u2019s physical condition while the regime\u2019s judiciary and intelligence officials refuse to give any kind of information in this regard, either.<\/p>\n
Besides, a number of protesters against imprisonment of Mohammad Ali Taheri were arrested and are currently being held in Fashafooyeh and Gharchak-Varamin prisons. They, too, have gone on hunger strike from the first hours of their arrest to protest against the security forces\u2019 violent and unlawful conduct.<\/p>\n
A number of the detainees have been severely beaten at the time of their arrest and are currently in a poor physical condition with their injuries untreated.<\/p>\n
There is still no information on the exact number of the strikers, their charges, status or their possible fate.<\/p>\n
