NCRI –\u00a0The political prisoner, Reza Akbari Monfared in a letter to the UN Special Rapporteur protested against the constraints imposed by the Mullahs’ regime to her sister, Maryam Akbari Monfared. She is forbidden from any visitation with her family and children and she is also charged with litigation against the perpetrators of the Massacre occurred in 1988.<\/p>\n
Reza Akbari Monfared asked Ms. Asma Jahangir to investigate into the issue.<\/p>\n

I convey my greetings with regards.<\/p>\n
As I went to visit my sister this week, I realized that she is forbidden from any visitation. Just to let you know, I am Reza Akbari Monfared, the prisoner of Gohardasht Prison (Rajai Shahr) and my sister, Maryam Akbari Monfared is imprisoned in Evin Prison.<\/p>\n
I was told by my family this week that my sister is banned from any visitation with her family and children. The reason for the prohibition was explicitly stated that she has written a letter to litigate against the perpetrators of the Massacre occurred in 1988.In her letter, she has addressed the perpetrators as those who tarnish the reputation of the regime.<\/p>\n
My sister’s letter does not reveal the secrecy of the regime or it does not erupt a scandal. She only wrote it to find an explanation for the death of our sisters and brothers. She wants to know why our sisters and brothers were executed without any specific reason while they had already been serving their time in prison. How could they consider these issues as a crime and an act against the national security while it occurred 28 years ago?<\/p>\n
Earlier than that, I was also forbidden from any visitation because I wrote the same letter and litigated against the perpetrators. The reason for writing this letter is to explain my sister’s condition who was questioned for writing a litigation letter and she was banned from visitation which is also a kind of confession to the crime while the judicial authorities are aware of such issues. My sister’s children whom one of them is an eleven-year-old girl are banned from visiting their mother because of a letter. The judiciary still follows the policy of 1988 and it does not only punish the guilty but also all relatives and family. The judiciary does not only comply with the rule of individuality in punishment but it sticks to the principal of collectiveness and familiarity and it punishes all. Therefore, I ask you as the main international human rights organization to pay attention to this issue. In this judicial system and regime, there is no authority to call for justice and the litigation is considered as a crime.<\/p>\n
