Iran – Coronavirus outbreak- March 2020<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI, Mujahedin-e Khalq or MEK)<\/a> announced on Tuesday that\u00a0<\/span>several<\/span>\u00a0its supporters and members of the MEK\u2019s \u201cResistance Units\u201d were\u00a0<\/span>among 3,000<\/a><\/span>\u00a0people<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>who\u00a0<\/span>have lost their lives because of the\u00a0<\/span>C<\/span>oronavirus outbreak<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a statement,\u00a0the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)<\/a> <\/span>wrote that the MEK \u201cannounced <\/a><\/span>that the death toll in Alborz Province has reached 120 victims. Several members of Resistance Units and MEK supporters, who had rushed to assist those infected, are among the victims, including Negar\u00a0<\/span>Siyah<\/span>\u00a0Mortazavi,\u00a0<\/span>Moharamali<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Esmaeeli<\/span>, and Hassan\u00a0<\/span>Nayyeri<\/span>\u00a0in Karaj and\u00a0<\/span>Sorkh<\/span>-e\u00a0<\/span>Hessar<\/span>.<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since the coronavirus\u00a0<\/span>outbreak in Iran,\u00a0<\/span>contradictory to the regime\u2019s inaction and deliberate downplaying of the crises which has turned Iran\u00a0<\/span>in<\/span>to a killing zone\u00a0<\/span>for the Iranian people and the epicenter of\u00a0<\/span>the coronavirus, t<\/span>he MEK\u2019s network of supporters inside Iran and abroad have rushed to aid the victims<\/span>\u00a0or echo their voices<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>The MEK\u2019s resistance units inside Iran\u00a0<\/span>have chosen to\u00a0<\/span>help victims<\/span>\u00a0amid\u00a0<\/span>scarcity of medical\u00a0<\/span>equipment,\u00a0<\/span>and while the regime has hoarded\u00a0<\/span>masks and\u00a0<\/span>disinfectants<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi,<\/a> the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>had<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>repeatedly<\/span>\u00a0urged the brave youth to assist and care for those infected<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>The NCRI President-elect called on all supporters of the PMOI\/MEK and the Iranian Resistance in Iran to assist and care for those who have contracted the virus and help save the lives of their compatriots, while taking all the necessary safety measures for themselves, using the full range of available medical resources.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>The mullahs’ regime, which itself is the main cause of the disastrous outbreak, lacks competence and ability to manage the crisis and help the people of\u00a0Gilan\u00a0and the entire nation, she said.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The MEK and NCRI\u2019s supporters in\u00a0<\/span>different countries around the world\u00a0<\/span>have staged protests, calling on the international community, particularly the United Nations and the World Health Organization (WHO)<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0to\u00a0<\/span>help the Iranian people and\u00a0<\/span>pressure the<\/span>\u00a0regime to release prisoners who are\u00a0<\/span>doomed to be infected with the COVID-19 as the virus spread<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0across Iranian prisons.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>P<\/span>rote<\/span>sts have been<\/span>\u00a0held<\/span>\u00a0in Sweden,\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>United States, Belgium, Germany,\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>Austria.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mrs. Rajavi has underlined<\/span>:\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>T<\/span>he Iranian people\u2019s fight against the Coronavirus is a part and parcel of their struggle against the inhuman clerical regime to establish freedom and democracy<\/span>.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
