NCRI –\u00a0The Iranian regime\u2019s Director General of Intelligence in Khuzestan province (Southwestern Iran) has spoken in an interview of the establishment of the \u2018University of Intelligence and Security\u2019 in Ahwaz, so as to further stifle the social protests as well as the political and civil rights activists.<\/p>\n
The state news agency ISNA has quoted Khuzestan province\u2019s Director General of Intelligence Hossein Bagherzadeh on Wednesday 2 November as saying: \u201cthe security policy approach in Khuzestan province is changing, with new approaches being introduced according to the new threats to the province.\u201d<\/p>\n
While pointing to the suppression and control of political and cultural activities, the regime\u2019s Director General of Information said: \u201cit\u2019s not acceptable that some groups be involved in political and cultural activities without regarding the security concerns.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bagherzadeh said that the aim of establishing the new university is \u2018to analyze the security approaches\u2019 which is part of a bigger plan by regime\u2019s Ministry of Intelligence. \u201cFollowing the content analysis and discovering the security issues in the province, the Ministry\u2019s main office will try to come up with a solution\u201d, said Bagherzadeh.<\/p>\n
Admitting that the city is trapped in poverty and unemployment, he said: \u201cthe majority of people involved in the security measures in the province are lacking experience and have illiterate parents.\u201d<\/p>\n
The decision to establish Ahwaz University of Intelligence and Security is made at a time when hundreds of political, cultural and civil rights activists and even environmentalists are kept in prisons for different excuses and dozens of people have also been arrested in recent days and months for protesting against transferring Karun River\u2019s water. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
