NCRI –\u00a0In an interview with Al Arabiya TV on November 29, Gen. Ahmed Rahal, Syrian military and strategic analyst, described the military situation of the opposition fighters in East Aleppo, as following:<\/p>\n
\u201cFirstly I should say that Aleppo exposed the international community\u2019s true nature. Aleppo exposed incapacity of the international community.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cInside the cities, urban combat is going on and differs from classic war. A sniper who takes position can stop a military convoy across a street. We have 8 thousand combatants. There are 280 thousand besieged citizens (civilians) in south of Aleppo. I don\u2019t say that the combatants are prepared to confront the forces that Iranian regime concentrated around the city of Aleppo or can deal with the Assad regime\u2019s and Russian\u2019s aircrafts. On the other hand, we are engaged in a fight against the Iranian regime\u2019s sectarian militants that are fighting with religious fanaticism. So, we’re in a situation that the Syrian revolution has never faced before.
\u201cRevolution exists in the heart and mind of people and in their future and activities and every particle of the soil they live on. Therefore, if we lose Aleppo and Idlib, it doesn\u2019t mean that the Revolution has ended. We must not forget that when the Revolution began, it did not have even one square meter of the geographical area of Syria.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen Russia noticed that the commander of Iranian terrorist Quds force, Qassem Soleimani\u2019s promise to determine the fate of the war in 4-month was not fulfilled, it changed its plan and dispatched more troops to Syria because it is not able to retreat and declare defeat. It brought in new types of weapons and used them.<\/p>\n
\u201cA humanitarian catastrophe is happening in Aleppo. The international community that had no mercy in Bosnia and Herzegovina now needs to regain consciousness of what is happening in Aleppo.\u201d<\/p>\n
