NCRI \u2013 Militants backed by the Iranian regime, who in their sectarian killings target Sunnis, are a serious threat to the future of Iraq, according to an Iraqi writer and analyst.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Al-Arabiya TV regarding the Iranian regime\u2019s affiliated militia, known as Hashde al-Shabi, Iraqi writer and analyst Omar Sobhi said: \u201cThe content of a law that passed in the Iraqi parliament in favor of Hashde al-Shabi and recognized it was a blow to the national consensus that existed since 2003 to today. Moreover, such a law is like a stab in the back of the United Nations\u2019 efforts. The historical national consensus which united the Iraqis was in the framework of these efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cDespite the request by the Speaker of Parliament and representatives of Kurds and Alliance Forces and even some representatives of the National Coalition to postpone adoption of the law for two or three days in order to bring in new changes, they adopted the law and ignored the requests. There are grave dangers hidden in this law,\u201d the Iraqi analyst added.<\/p>\n
Al-Arabiya TV: \u201cYou remember that when the issue of Iraq\u2019s national guards was raised, how they threw stones in front of it and eventually dismantled it. They crossed that law but adopted this law overnight. What is your analysis?\u201d<\/p>\n
Omar Sobhi: \u201cAlthough the law was within the framework of the political agreement and the government was formed in 2014 based on this, and the political factions including the National Coalition pledged to approve the National Guard legislation, but they did not do it.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
