The People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK)<\/a> announced on Sunday the death toll of<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0coronavirus has surpassed 32,200.\u00a0<\/span>The\u00a0<\/span>MEK\u2019s revelation<\/span>\u00a0and<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>regime\u2019s corruption and\u00a0<\/span>deadlock in handling the crisis ha<\/span>ve<\/span>\u00a0intensified\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>regime\u2019s fear of\u00a0<\/span>a<\/span>n<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>uprising and\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>mullahs\u2019 infighting.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard, <\/span>the regime\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>F<\/span>irst Vice President\u00a0<\/span>Esha<\/span>q<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Jahangiri<\/span>\u00a0said:\u00a0<\/span>\u201cThis country has enemies and dissidents who are spread across the globe, and they have media outlets at their disposal. They are constantly pumping to take hope away from the people and leave them disappointed. [Media outlets and others] inside the country should not do the same. In such circumstances it is not expected from us to take hope away from the people. Why should we be giving a goal assist to the satellite media networks, so they can question our entire state, and say they have lost billions of dollars and now they say we don\u2019t have money?\u201d <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur Health Ministry has coordinated numbers with the World Health Organization. Each day when they intend to announce their stats, there are voices who immediately say these numbers are not true. They pump these reports to leave the nation disappointed and hopeless,\u201d he added.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The regime\u2019s bogus claims\u00a0<\/span>of inventing a new remote device that uses\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>\u201cmagnetic field\u201d with a\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>bipolar virus\u00a0<\/span>inside\u201d that can detect the novel coronavirus within 100 meters and has\u00a0<\/span>over 80 percent of accuracy; and that there is no other device like\u00a0<\/span>this in the world, was rather a joke and\u00a0<\/span>further exposed\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>regime\u2019s duplicity.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In a failed attempt to<\/span>\u00a0clean this mess,\u00a0<\/span>Hesam<\/span>ed<\/span>din<\/span>-e\u00a0<\/span>Ashena<\/span>, an advisor to the regime\u2019s president Hassan Rouhani<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0wrote on twitter:\u00a0<\/span>\u201cIn a situation where the public is confronted with strange news every day, do not advertise for innovative and unique virus<\/span>–<\/span>\u00a0detecting devices<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>without the official approval of the Ministry of Health.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In response to\u00a0<\/span>Ashena<\/span>, the state-run\u00a0<\/span>Rah-e Dana wrote: \u201cAfter the coordinated attack by the anti-revolution<\/span>ary elements<\/span>\u00a0and the MEK<\/a> to the Revolutionary Guards public service\u00a0<\/span>[by creating the device] to fight novel coronavirus,\u00a0<\/span>Ashena<\/span>\u00a0warned the national TV\u00a0<\/span>to not advertise\u00a0<\/span>virus-detecti<\/span>ng<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>devices\u00a0<\/span>without\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>government\u2019s approval<\/span>.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u00a0<\/span>Ashena<\/span>\u00a0did was\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>copy the MEK<\/a><\/span>. This happens\u00a0<\/span>under<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>such<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>circumstances<\/span>\u00a0that [the rival factions] media, po<\/span>liticians and critics of Rouhani\u2019s government have sacrificed all their differences with the government and fully support the government despite its wrong decisions.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In another development,\u00a0<\/span>in an interview with Khabar\u00a0<\/span>Fori<\/span>\u00a0website on April 6, 2020, Akbar\u00a0<\/span>Torkan<\/span>, former Minister of Defense and Transportation under Rafsanjani and former advisor to Rouhani<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0expressed fear over the disclosures of the facts by the Iranian Resistance. \u201cThe new Iranian calendar year is going to be a tough one\u2026 in addition to Coronavirus, we have to watch out for the Tirana virus. We are now facing two viruses, one is Coronavirus, and the other is the Tirana virus, which is the capital of Albania. Some 1,500 members of the MEK<\/a> are based in camps there, where they sit behind computers in the state-of-the-art halls waging psychological and internet warfare against the Islamic Republic every day. All members of the MEK<\/a> have been organized to wage psychological warfare against the Islamic Republic from there\u2026 They spread rumors and lies as much as they can.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The regime\u2019s real fear, as reflected in its top officials\u2019 speeches and w<\/span>ritings in<\/span>\u00a0the state-run media, is of another wave of the Iran protests.\u00a0<\/span>On March 14, the state-run\u00a0<\/span>Mizan<\/span>\u00a0News Agency, which is affiliated with the Iranian regime\u2019s judiciary, published an analysis conducted by the\u202f<\/span>\u201c<\/span>Asra<\/span>\u00a0think-tank\u201d<\/span><\/a>\u202fover the Iranian society\u2019s current situation after the coronavirus outbreak, titled \u201cCoronavirus and confrontation at several fronts.\u201d This think-tank, which is affiliated with the regime\u2019s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, wrote: \u201cWith a severe shortage of goods and commodities, there is a possibility of a rebellion. But whether there will be national uprisings against the regime, the extent of the people\u2019s resilience to the crisis should be mentioned. Crossing the line of resilience and the lack of a centralized crisis management mechanism can turn local and regional uprisings into nationwide uprisings. Linking the corona crisis in Iran with past developments, including November 2019, creates a rebellion process.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On Tuesday, April 7, \u201cIran-<\/span>Emrouz<\/span>\u00a0state-run daily wrote: \u201cWe are going to have a major social upheaval after\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>Coronavirus is over. The situation is not going to be calm. It is going to be exactly like the period after the 2017 elections (uprisings), and we are going to see repeated and powerful incidents.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In another development,\u00a0<\/span>Haghshenas<\/span>, the head of Tehran City Council\u2019s health commission told the state-run daily\u00a0<\/span>Asr<\/span>-e Iran on April 19<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0\u201cThe wrong statistics could endanger people\u2019s lives and cause irreparable damage to people\u2019s lives and property, and bring about liability both legally and morally. If the NCCT officials do not provide accurate and clear information, they could be charged with manslaughter and should be held accountable for all these deaths for failing to make the right decision and perform duties properly.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On Sunday,\u202fstate-run\u00a0<\/span>Aftab<\/span>-e Yazd<\/span>\u00a0daily<\/span>, while quoting\u00a0<\/span>Gholam<\/span>\u00a0Ali Jafarzadeh, a deputy of the regime<\/span>\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0parliament, wrote<\/span>: \u201c<\/span>We have a high unemployment rate in the post-Coronavirus era \u2026 We currently have between 3 and 5 million unemployed. Just imagine what would be the situation if another one million is added, especially among the country\u2019s active population.\u201d \u201cThere will be a high unemployment rate, closure of small and large enterprises, rise in prices of goods, horrifying inflation rate. We are going to have a terrifying post-Coronavirus era; fever in our sick economy will rise, and we will face a severe economic fever,\u201d he added.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As it has been repeatedly said by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)<\/a><\/span>:\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>People\u2019s health and lives are worthless to Ali Khamenei and Hassan Rouhani, the mullahs\u2019 supreme leader and president. Their only objective is to preserve their own rule and protect it against popular uprisings in<\/span>\u00a0Iran.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
