Massoud\u00a0<\/span>Younesian<\/span>, a faculty member at Tehran University of Medical Sciences,\u00a0<\/span>told<\/span><\/a>\u00a0the state-run newspaper “Setareh\u00a0<\/span>Sobh<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>(<\/span>Morning Star<\/span>)<\/span>\u00a0on April 24, 2020: “I believe that the statistics are systematically much lower than they are. Coronavirus statistics<\/a> in Iran are reported with a process that subconsciously shows the reported cases much less than the reality, because the test used is not very sensitive and reports only half of the cases.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also, half of the hospitalized people are tested, and if we accept that only 20 percent of the cases are hospitalized and only half of them are tested, and only half of these tests are positive, we can say that the actual statistics are about 20 times more than what is reported.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Commenting on the clerical regime’s criminal decision to reopen business<\/span>es<\/span>, which means sending people to\u00a0<\/span>a<\/span>\u00a0Corona massacre, he said:\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>We have not provided<\/span>\u00a0a<\/span>\u00a0review to our experts. And we do not follow the knowledge of the World Health Organization.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The state-run newspaper published a list of confessions made by members of parliament and the Tehran City Council about the regime’s secrecy regarding the catastrophic\u00a0<\/span>existence<\/span>\u00a0of Corona:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“On April 13, the Social Research Office of the Center for Parliamentary Research released a report on the\u00a0<\/span>\u2018<\/span>Coronavirus Outbreak<\/span>\u2019<\/span>\u00a0and examined the policy situation in the area, which was estimated to have killed 8,609 people (approximately two times). More than 600,000 to 750,000 people (about 8 to 10 times more).”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mohsen Hashemi Rafsanjani, chairman of the Tehran City Council, on April 19 in an open session of the Tehran City Council called the official statistics of the Ministry of Health about the prevalence of Corona in Iran unrealistic and said: “City council members are concerned that this statistic will create the impression that the situation will return to normal and that the groundwork will be laid for resolving restrictions.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mohammad\u00a0<\/span>Javad<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Haghshenas<\/span>, head of the Tehran City Council’s health commission, also criticized the Ministry of Health for not announcing Corona<\/span>virus<\/span>\u00a0statistics\u00a0<\/span>in each<\/span>\u00a0province, accusing the ministry of making statistics and giving false information to the public. Despite all these discussions,\u00a0<\/span>a joint poll<\/span><\/a>\u00a0conducted by the Tehran Municipality’s Deputy for Social and Cultural Affairs and the Iranian Student Opinion Polling Center (ISPA) found that 48% of people do not trust Corona’s official death toll.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result, the Covid-19 death toll in Iran is arguably the worst in the world. While the regime\u2019s official statements indicate that there have been a little over 5,000 fatal cases, sources like t<\/span>he<\/span>\u00a0People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK)<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>announced on Friday, April 24, 2020, that the Coronavirus fatalities has surpassed<\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>34,700<\/span><\/b>\u00a0in 297 cities across the country.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
