The coronavirus outbreak<\/a> in Iran has claimed\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>lives of nearly 38,000 people due to the regime\u2019s cover-up and inaction.\u00a0<\/span>Instead of\u00a0<\/span>helping people<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0the Iranian regime arrests those exposing the reality of the COVID-19 for what it calls \u201crumo<\/span>r<\/span>–<\/span>mongering.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In other countries,\u00a0<\/span>in addition to\u00a0<\/span>government transparency,\u00a0<\/span>individuals\u00a0<\/span>who alert other<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0about\u00a0<\/span>a crisis such as the coronavirus outbreak<\/span>\u00a0are honored\u00a0<\/span>as heroes. In Iran<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0this is not the case.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Brig. Gen.\u00a0<\/span>Abolfazl<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Shekarchi<\/span>, the spokesman for the regime\u2019s armed forces, told<\/span>\u00a0state-run TV<\/span>\u00a0on April 29<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0\u201c<\/span>Some\u00a0<\/span>3,600 people who had posted rumors in virtual space were arrested by the State Security Forces (SSF) and the\u00a0<\/span>Bassij<\/span>. Our enemies continue their hostility, and they have agents\u00a0<\/span>inside the country\u00a0<\/span>who pursue their policy in the country.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On March 5, the head of the Iranian regime\u2019s cyber police<\/span>\u00a0(FATA)<\/span>\u00a0announced the arrest of 121 Iranians for \u201cspreading rumors\u201d about the coronavirus. The regime also reportedly threatened medical staff against revealing accurate statistics of coronavirus cases and deaths.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On April 17, t<\/span>he National Council of Resistance of Iran<\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>(<\/span>NCRI<\/span>)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>revealed\u00a0<\/span>confidential directive<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0of the Iranian regime\u2019s Command Center for Communications\u00a0<\/span>and<\/span>\u00a0Law Enforcement Security (ICT)<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0This document read:\u00a0<\/span>Membership ban in any hostile (Internet) groups affiliated with deviant\u00a0 counter-revolutionary and political currents\u200c,\u201d refrain from providing \u201corganizational information,\u201d \u201cinformation that causes tension among the population or between the people and the armed forces and the government\u201d and\u201d \u201cinformation that causes tension between armed forces organizations.\u201c<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since the coronavirus outbreak, the regime\u2019s official policy was to cover<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>up the true dimensions of the crisis, fearing a possible social outrage. The People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK)<\/a> announced on Wednesday that the coronavirus death toll has surpassed 37,200. The actual number is indeed much higher.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A\u00a0<\/span>MEK<\/a> report from in<\/span>side Iran\u00a0<\/span>states:<\/span>\u00a0\u201c<\/span>In just one day, in February, at the\u00a0<\/span>Daneshvari<\/span>\u00a0Hospital in Tehran, 36 people passed away because of the coronavirus. The hospital\u2019s employees said on the same day they were not allowed to take footages or pictures. There are many plainclothes MOIS agents. Today some of these plainclothes agents were speaking with the security forces and the hospital\u2019s management. They put pressure on the medical staff to inform them immediately if anyone wants to take footage.<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A\u00a0<\/span>MEK<\/a> report from\u00a0<\/span>Valian<\/span>\u00a0Hospital in the city of\u00a0<\/span>Aligudarz<\/span>\u00a0in Lorestan provinces\u00a0<\/span>states: \u201cThe hospital\u2019s security office has threatened to fire anyone who gives the names of those killed.\u202f\u201c\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These revelations, particularly those\u00a0<\/span>by\u00a0<\/span>the Iranian\u00a0<\/span>Resistance, has put the regime in a deadlock.\u00a0<\/span>If the regime continues the cover-up, it will add to the Iranian people\u2019s explosive anger, drawing\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>possible explosion closer, because the Iranian people are watching facts closely.<\/span>\u00a0Yet, If the regime\u00a0<\/span>halts\u00a0<\/span>its cover-up and announces the real death toll, this will certainly spark an explosion and an uprising, which utterly terrifies the regime.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

S<\/span>o<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0for the regime, and for the Iranian people<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0it is clear\u00a0<\/span>no matter what direction\u00a0<\/span>the regime<\/span>\u00a0takes, this will lead to the Iranian people\u2019s uprising and the regime\u2019s downfall.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
