On Wednesday, April 22, the Iranian regime\u2019s Revolutionary Guards <\/span>(IRGC)<\/span> launched a ballistic missile, under the pretext of sending a <\/span>satellite<\/a> <\/span>into orbit. The IRGC claimed\u00a0<\/span>that launching this missile was to place a satellite in orbit close to the <\/span>e<\/span>arth. <\/span><\/p>\n

Yet, the real purpose of this action was not sending a satellite into\u00a0<\/span>orbit,<\/span>\u00a0but it was<\/span>\u00a0an<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>IRGC\u00a0<\/span>ballistic missile test<\/span>. For years, the Iranian regime has been launching its ballistic missile<\/span>s which\u00a0<\/span>are capable of carrying<\/span>\u00a0nuclear weapon<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0under the pretext of sending satellite<\/span>s<\/span>. The Iranian Resistance, for over a decade, has been exposing this issue that<\/span>\u00a0sending satellite<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0into orbit is merely a pretext for the regime\u2019s expansion and testing of its ballistic missiles.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For instance, in a <\/span>statement<\/span><\/a>\u00a0published on February 2, 2010, under the name of \u201c<\/span>Iranian regime\u2019s satellite launch is a cover for its nuclear warhead carrying missiles<\/span>,<\/span>\u201d the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) once again revealed this issue.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Iranian regime’s Defense Minister, Revolutionary Guard Ahmad\u00a0<\/span>Vahidi<\/span>, announced on Monday the regime’s plans for “unveiling three satellites,” named\u00a0<\/span>Tolo<\/span>, Mesbah II, and\u00a0<\/span>Navid<\/span>-e Elm-o\u00a0<\/span>San\u2019at<\/span>, on Wednesday. In a hollow and ridiculous\u00a0<\/span>gesture,<\/span> he said that “The message of the Islamic Republic of Iran against any threat would be devastating and stormy. (State-run\u00a0<\/span>Mehr<\/span> news agency, February 1),” reads the NCRI statement adding:<\/span><\/p>\n

“The noisy propaganda by the faltering regime about launching a satellite is a ploy with dual use of a hollow show of force and deception. The mullahs are trying to claim that they are making progress in the field of science and aerospace while covering up their missile tests capable of carrying nuclear warheads.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“The missiles are manufactured by the <\/span>Mot’al<\/span>\u00a0Industry Group (the Center for Advanced Electronic Research) of the Defense Ministry. Their production site\u00a0<\/span>is located in<\/span>\u00a0Beheshti Garrison (near the ordnance division) on Tehran’s Pasdaran Street. The Defense Ministry also uses the research centers at Sharif University of Technology (SUT), Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) and\u00a0<\/span>Amirkabir<\/span> University of Technology (AUT), for the production of these missiles.” adds the NCRI statement<\/a> dated February 10, 2010.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For years, the Iranian\u00a0<\/span>regime\u00a0<\/span>was trying\u00a0<\/span>to cover<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>up its military goals of testing ballistic missiles with this excuse that launching a satellite is a scientific\u00a0<\/span>and civil project. Yet, this time, the IRGC\u2019s commanders showed up at the scene and declared that the missile and satellite launch complex is under the control of the IRGC Air Force<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Attempts to cover up 6 failures of IRGC missile activities in the past year and a half<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to its\u00a0<\/span>domestic and international crises, the IRGC has been dealing with in internal crises, due to\u00a0<\/span>six<\/span>\u00a0failure<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0in launching missiles in\u00a0<\/span>one<\/span>–<\/span>and<\/span>–<\/span>a<\/span>–<\/span>half<\/span>\u00a0years<\/span>, which have resulted in the decline\u00a0<\/span>of its reputation and increase of its\u00a0<\/span>embarrassment <\/span>among its forces and mercenaries. The most important\u00a0<\/span>embarrassment of the IRGC Aerospace Force was shooting down the Ukrainian passenger jet\u00a0<\/span>on January 8<\/span>, which sparked student protests in different cities across the country against the regime\u2019s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and the IRGC.\u00a0 Therefore,<\/span>\u00a0the IRGC needed a show of power and propaganda maneuver<\/span>\u00a0to continue its\u00a0<\/span>forces activities and it’s <\/span>meddling in the Middle Eastern countries. The IRGC\u2019s missile\u00a0<\/span>failure<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0are as follows:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

February 6,\u00a0<\/span>2019: Explosion<\/span>\u00a0of\u00a0<\/span>a missile<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>on its launchpad at the Semnan Space Center\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

August 29, 2019<\/span>:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Explosion of<\/span>\u00a0Semnan<\/span>\u00a0missile\u00a0<\/span>at the launching time\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

February 9, 2020<\/span>:\u00a0<\/span>The \u201cZafar\u201d telecommunication satellite\u00a0<\/span>did not<\/span>\u00a0reach orbit in 540 kilometers from\u00a0<\/span>e<\/span>arth<\/span>. It was\u00a0<\/span>follow<\/span>ed by an explosion sound near the city of Zahedan, southeast Iran, due to its pieces hitting the <\/span>Earth<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

January 8, 202<\/span>0:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>The most important missile\u00a0<\/span>embarrassment of<\/span>\u00a0the regime: shooting down\u00a0<\/span>a<\/span>\u00a0Ukrainian passenger jet by the IRGC<\/span>\u2019s missile defense, killing all 176 passenger<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0aboard.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The launching zone<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0where\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>regime\u00a0<\/span>maneuvers on as an unknown place, is from the\u00a0<\/span>Sharood<\/span>\u00a0Missile Center, which is well known for the international media for almost seven years.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Why the regime launched a missile amid the coronavirus crisis?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As it was mentioned above, the regime\u2019s goal of launching a satellite is testing and acquiring ballistic missiles. Within the past forty years,\u00a0<\/span>obtaining missiles a<\/span>lo<\/span>ng with the export of terrorism and nuclear weapon<\/span>s<\/span> have been three pillars of the regime\u2019s military strategy. Each of these projects has cost tens or hundreds of billions of dollars. <\/span>The amount regime has spent on obtaining missiles yearly is much more than what it has spent on the people\u2019s health. <\/span>Reports indicate that<\/span>\u00a0building missile centers and underground tunnels cost hundreds of millions of dollars and each year, the regime spends billions of dollars\u00a0<\/span>on its missile projects complex.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Yet, currently, and due to the coronavirus crisis, the regime intends\u00a0<\/span>to cover<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>up it<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0desperation<\/span>\u00a0in<\/span>\u00a0grappling with<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0crisis by launching missiles and creating a new international crisis. Before the coronavirus crisis, the regime was engulfed with several crises, including the downing of the Ukrainian jet by the IRGC\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>Aerospace Forces, the elimination of the IRGC\u2019s Quds Force commander\u00a0<\/span>Qassem<\/span> Soleimani, Iran protests against Khamenei and the IRGC in January, the Iran protests in November, people\u2019s critical economic situation<\/span>\u00a0and the coronavirus crisis and its massacre which has been recently added to the regime\u2019s crisis complex.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Iranian regime, for its own survival, has\u00a0<\/span>created a crisis, violating the United Nations Security Council\u2019s 2231 Resolution. The only way to prevent\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>regime\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>aggression is by taking a firm international policy in dealing with the IRGC\u2019s terrorism and warmongering. This regime <\/span>has spent hundreds of billions of dollars on its nuclear and missile activities while <\/span>the majority of<\/span>\u00a0the Iranian people live in absolute poverty.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
