NCRI –\u00a0Invited by Maria Elena Elverin, president of the International Federation of Women Lawyers, a delegation from NCRI Women\u2019s Committee participated in an international conference held by the organization.<\/p>\n
Held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the 4-day conference was participated by prominent women lawyers from North America, Latin America, Africa and Europe.<\/p>\n
Messages of solidarity by prominent women from across the world were also read in the conference, among whom were Hillary Clinton, US Presidential Candidate of the Democratic Party, Bandana Rana, UN-elected woman of the year 2016, and Ingrid Betancourt, former Colombian Presidential candidate.<\/p>\n
Also Iranian Resistance\u2019s President-elect Mrs. Maryam Rajavi sent a message to the international conference in Buenos Aires.<\/p>\n
The delegation from NCRI Women\u2019s Committee in the conference tried to enlighten the audience as to the campaign seeking justice for the martyrs of the 1988 massacre.<\/p>\n
In her speech, member of NCRI Women\u2019s Committee Elaheh Arjmandi explained the institutionalized repression against women by Mullahs\u2019 misogynist regime and outlined details regarding the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners. She then answered the questions asked by the audience in this regard. The lawyers in the meeting described the 1988 massacre as a shame on the justice system in the modern world and stressed on the necessity to put on trial the Iranian regime\u2019s leaders as the perpetrators and instigators of this crime against humanity.<\/p>\n
The conference came to a close on its fourth day with speeches by Maria Fabiana Tones, chair of the Argentine\u2019s Parliament Women\u2019s Committee, as well as Dr. Mariana Elena Elverin.<\/p>\n
In their trip to Buenos Aires, the NCRI Women\u2019s Committee members also met with Ms. Estela Barnes De Carlotta, President of the Association of the Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo (an organization seeking to identify those martyred or abducted during Argentine\u2019s military dictatorship).
The representatives of NCRI Women\u2019s Committee in the meeting lauded Ms. Barnes De Carlotta\u2019s 39 years of efforts to put on trial those responsible for the crimes perpetrated during Argentine\u2019s Colonel Dictatorship.<\/p>\n
Expressing her pleasure over meeting NCRI Women\u2019s Committee, Ms. Estella Barnes De Carlotta also declared her support for the campaign seeking justice for the martyrs of the 1988 massacre.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
