The\u00a0People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI)<\/a>\u00a0announced this afternoon, May 15, 2020, that Coronavirus has taken the lives of more than\u00a041<\/strong>,700<\/strong>\u00a0in 318 cities across Iran.
\nThe death toll in various provinces include: 6930 in Tehran, 2590 in Mazandaran, 2475 in Khuzestan, 1230 in Sistan & Baluchistan, 1025 in Fars, 990 in Kermanshah, 495 in Zanjan, 470 in North Khorasan, and 182 in Hormozagan. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.<\/p>\n

On International Nurses Day, a selfless and hard-working nurse named Zahra (Behnaz) Mostaedi died at Labafinejad Hospital in Tehran. The 42-year-old\u00a0nurse suffered<\/a>\u00a0a cardiac arrest due to pressure at work.<\/p>\n

Behnaz Mostaedi worked in the hospital\u2019s ICU, caring for Coronavirus patients around the clock. She died while on duty (The state-run Naja News Agency \u2013 May 13, 2020).<\/p>\n

In Khuzestan Province, a selfless nurse, Zahra Absalan, fell to the ground after fainting due to excessive fatigue. She oversees the laboratory in Hamidiyeh and had been\u00a0working while fasting<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The number of victims in Mazandaran is 2,555, Khuzestan 2,430, West Azerbaijan 1,245, Sistan and Baluchestan 1,190, Hamedan 1,185, Lorestan 1,130, Kurdistan 685, and North Khorasan 455.<\/p>\n

The Iranian Resistance issued a statement on May 5, 2020, publishing the names and pictures of 20 Iranians including six women and two elite students from Sharif Industrial University who have been arrested in Tehran and other cities. The secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran said these are among the many who have been arrested in recent months.
\nThe six arrested women are: Nahid Fat\u2019halian, Parastoo Mo\u2019ini, Zahra Safaei, Forough Taghipour, Marzieh Farsi from Tehran and Somayeh Bidi from Karaj.<\/p>\n
