The Iranian regime\u2019s supreme leader, in a video conference on Sunday, <\/span>with his\u00a0<\/span>Basiji<\/span>\u00a0paramilitar<\/span>y forces posing as students, once again expressed his utter fear of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK)<\/a><\/span>\u00a0and its role in leading the restive Iranian society toward toppling the regime.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDo not allow your protests to be viewed as protests against the Islamic system; the enemy is waiting for this. Sometimes, you may assume that you are protesting the issue of the stock exchange or Pride [an automobile brand produced locally]. But depending on the way you protest, the enemy views or implies it as a\u00a0<\/span>protest<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>against\u00a0<\/span>the system. You must seriously prevent this from happening and not allow the enemy to have an opportunity to make such an assumption because of your protest or imply to others that this is a protest against the system,\u201d Khamenei said, adding<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0\u201cIt would be good if you be at the forefront of demands. If you stop leading in this arena, then others may take the lead whose aim is not to resolve the people\u2019s difficulties but are aiming to fight against Islam and the Islamic Republic.\u00a0<\/span>Do not<\/span>\u00a0allow that. In other words, this must not happen.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Recently the Iranian regime brutally arrested two elite students, Amir\u00a0<\/span>Hossain<\/span>\u00a0Moradi an Ali\u00a0<\/span>Younesi<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>for allegedly supporting the MEK.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>On May 5, 2020\u00a0<\/span>t<\/span>he People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK)<\/a> a<\/span>nnounced the names of 18 others, among the many who have been arrested by the regime.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0While terrified of the\u00a0<\/span>youth being attracted to the MEK<\/a> and its democratic values,\u00a0<\/span>and instructing\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>regime\u2019s officials to\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>go and speak with students at the universities<\/span>\u201d and repeat\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>regime\u2019s allegations against the MEK, in order to desperately<\/span>\u00a0prevent youth from supporting the MEK<\/a><\/span>, Khamenei<\/span>\u00a0said: \u201c<\/span>Places<\/span>\u00a0of gathering for young people, including universities, have been the target of two major evils: passivity and deviation. In the early days of the revolution, we had some young people who believed in Islam\u2026. They were attracted to the MEK\u2026 And joined their path.\u201d In a clear edict to suppress the MEK<\/a> and dissidents, Khamenei added<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0\u201cExpand the revolutionary front. Recruit \u2026 Of course, I\u00a0<\/span>don\u2019t<\/span>\u00a0mean the MEK, the non-believers \u2026 I do not recommend that we appease those who do not accept the foundations of the revolution, cast doubt on its foundations, promote the enemy, and put us on the wrong path. Not at all. You must deal with them explicitly and strongly\u2026 They (<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>enemy) also work on our youth and try to exploit them and are planning for this.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Khamenei\u2019s remarks alone debunk<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0regime<\/span>\u00a0longtime campaign of\u00a0<\/span>demonizing the MEK<\/a> and portraying it as a so-called \u201cgrouplet,\u201d with little\u00a0<\/span>or\u00a0<\/span>no support.\u00a0<\/span>In p<\/span>arallel with this demonization campaign abroad, the regime has published hundreds of books<\/span>\u00a0and<\/span>\u00a0produced dozens of\u00a0<\/span>films<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>to somehow discredit the MEK for the youth.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On April 24, 2020, Iran\u2019s state-run Nasim-e Kermanshah website republished an article originally printed by the state-run Nama News and Nasim News agencies.<\/span>\u00a0The so-called \u201cMEK expert\u201d\u00a0<\/span>Meysam<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Parsa<\/span>\u00a0wrote in this article: \u201c<\/span>Why do we pointlessly put the name of Reza Pahlavi, who poses no threat to the system, as a distraction along with the name of the real enemy, the MEK<\/a>, which seeks our downfall. While our supporters continue this wrong method, Massoud Rajavi (leader of the Iranian resistance) constantly speaks of \u201cResistance Units\u201d and orders chaos and our [regime\u2019s] downfall?<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In fact, the regime\u2019s officials<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0particularly Khamenei<\/span>\u00a0and state media<\/span>, in words and action have been warning of\u00a0<\/span>the restive Iranian society and the post-coronavirus situation<\/span>\u00a0and severe economic situation<\/span>; and most importantly the MEK<\/span>\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0role.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The state-run\u00a0<\/span>Jamaran<\/span><\/a>\u00a0website, in a lengthy article published on May 1<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0wrote:\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>Long-term grief has become devastating in much of our society. Also, the rage of successive years has turned into hatred. Just one spark is enough to cause an emotional outbreak of social violence. Regardless of its origins, this spark could be a rise in gasoline prices, or a plane crash, or anything else.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

#Iran<\/a> On the Verge of a Revolution

T<\/span>hey were also the ones who called on the people to make the people follow them<\/span>,<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>Khamenei<\/span>\u00a0said in a speech\u00a0<\/span>in\u00a0<\/span>January 2018.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the IRGC-affiliated Fars news, Hossein\u00a0<\/span>Ashtari<\/span>, the Commander of State Security Forces (SSF), said: \u201cOur investigations show that behind the scenes, anti-revolutionary organizations and the MEK<\/a> led these movements.\u201d (Fars News Agency, November 17, 2019<\/span>)\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
