Due to the Iranian regime\u2019s institutionalized corruption and <\/span>plundering the wealth of the country<\/span>, Iran\u2019s economy is\u00a0<\/span>in\u00a0<\/span>a freefall. Iranian society, after 40 years of corruption and oppression<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>is now\u00a0<\/span>like\u00a0<\/span>a powder keg. This has forced<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0regime\u2019s officials to admit to part of the regime\u2019s corruption.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On Monday, the state-ru<\/span>n\u00a0<\/span>Etemad<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Online news agency published an interview<\/a> wit<\/span>h Mohammad-Reza Mortazavi,\u00a0<\/span>presented as the \u201cH<\/span>ead of the\u00a0<\/span>Iranian Flour Makers Association and President of the Iranian Food Industry Associations<\/span>.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In parts of his interview Mortazavi acknowledged: \u201c<\/span>As the employer<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0we [<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>regime] should\u00a0<\/span>add 30% a year to workers\u2019 salary.\u00a0<\/span>But the<\/span>\u00a0current\u00a0<\/span>financial oligarchy takes fifty percent of workers<\/span>\u2019<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>wages,\u00a0<\/span>leaving them nothing.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In another part of his interview Mortazavi said: \u201cRecently I told one of the judiciary officials, who was complaining about the\u00a0<\/span>domestic\u00a0<\/span>vehicle, that our\u00a0<\/span>domestic\u00a0<\/span>vehicle production ended up in this situation because of a wrong judiciary verdict. I was looking at the statistics<\/span>. A<\/span>lthough I am a supporter of the\u00a0<\/span>domestic\u00a0<\/span>vehicle industry, yet one feels sorry to see we could decrease 20<\/span>,000<\/span>\u00a0to 36<\/span>,000<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>road accidents and deaths a year with\u00a0<\/span>just\u00a0<\/span>a little endeavor.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since the regime took power in 1979,\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>mullahs\u2019 inner circle and affiliates have been plundering people\u2019s wealth<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>for their personal use<\/span>\u00a0or to<\/span>\u00a0fund terrorism\u00a0<\/span>and oppression.\u00a0<\/span>Th<\/span>is\u00a0<\/span>policy has created a huge gap between the social classes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>In the Iranian society, during these past years, a lot of wealth was stolen by some people. This bread is not halal<\/span>. I<\/span>t is stolen bread, and some people became poor<\/span>,<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0Mortazavi added.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0Mortazavi said:\u00a0<\/span>\u201cIn<\/span>\u00a0our Islamic country,\u00a0<\/span>I witnessed with my own eyes how they close<\/span>d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>two ends of a road<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>while\u00a0<\/span>search<\/span>ing<\/span>\u00a0the cars<\/span>, and yet they<\/span>\u00a0then\u00a0<\/span>serve alcohol in the restaurant<\/span>\u00a0[located in that road for\u00a0<\/span>wealthy people]<\/span>. Once I was passing by and saw one of these\u00a0<\/span>restaurants. When the door opened,\u00a0<\/span>I\u00a0<\/span>smelt\u00a0<\/span>the alcohol<\/span>. It was so strong tha<\/span>t you could set the restaurant on fire with\u00a0<\/span>a lighter<\/span>.<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>H<\/span>e continued<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u201cI<\/span>\u00a0have seen\u00a0<\/span>buildings\u00a0<\/span>where their elevator alone\u00a0<\/span>ha<\/span>s\u00a0<\/span>an\u00a0<\/span>equal<\/span>\u00a0value<\/span>\u00a0to the wealth of forty workers. This is\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>clear discrimination<\/span>. It has two damages: first,\u00a0<\/span>when a worker sees his belongings are shrinking daily and on the other hand\u00a0<\/span>sees these differences<\/span>, he<\/span>\u00a0becomes frustrated<\/span>. Second, this frustration turns to\u00a0<\/span>anger,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and this anger turns to the\u00a0<\/span>working-class<\/span>\u00a0revolution<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>obliteration of<\/span>\u00a0the government<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0as\u00a0<\/span>had\u00a0<\/span>happened\u00a0<\/span>in Russia.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While showing his real concern, which is\u00a0<\/span>of\u00a0<\/span>the regime\u2019s dow<\/span>nfall,\u00a0<\/span>Mortazavi<\/span>\u00a0furt<\/span>her warned\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>regime\u2019s officials\u00a0<\/span>and said<\/span>:\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>This social hatred that has engulfed the middle class is one of the factors hindering prosperity in the country.<\/span>\u00a0This hatred will turn to resentment.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>I\u00a0<\/span>remember\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>first days of\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>revolution. S<\/span>ome people were running into houses, confiscating those houses<\/span>…<\/span>\u00a0I see that day and it is crystal clear to me, that those days are coming back.\u00a0<\/span>As someone who knows and looks at society, I see that this hatred is growing and [<\/span>will turn in<\/span>to a revolution<\/span>] will explode.<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI<\/span><\/b>\u00a0see the day when workers attack these busty hills\u00a0<\/span><\/b>and burn them to the ground<\/span><\/b>,\u201d he<\/span><\/b>\u00a0asserted.\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These remarks reflect the regime\u2019s utter fear of an uprising and its looming downfall. The regime\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>mishandling of the coronavirus outbreak<\/a> and oppression should be added to\u00a0<\/span>it<\/span>s economic failure<\/span>, that\u00a0<\/span>together<\/span>\u00a0have turned the Iranian society into a powder keg that takes a spark to explode and<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>as Mortazavi said<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0will<\/span>\u00a0\u201cburn\u201d the regime\u201d to the ground<\/span>.<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
