\"Corruption<\/p>\n

Shamkhani\u2019s gang<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Corruption has been institutionalized within the Iranian regime, particularly in its governing bodies.\u00a0<\/span>All<\/span>\u00a0the regime\u2019s executive managers, members of parliament<\/span>, military personnel, members of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC)<\/a>, and clerics are deeply involved in corruption.<\/span>\u00a0The IRGC\u00a0<\/span>is<\/span> the main organization that is systematically involved in corruption, plundering, and embezzlements<\/span>. A considerable sum of the IRGC\u2019s budget is obtained through these ways. In addition to\u00a0<\/span>IRGC\u2019s<\/a> general<\/span>\u00a0plundering and embezzlements\u00a0<\/span>to gain its needed budget for terrorism and oppression, its personnel and elements also use different methods to fill their own pockets.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A sign of<\/span>\u00a0systematic corruption<\/span>\u00a0is using family connections, which means the regime\u2019s military or government\u00a0<\/span>top officials use their position to\u00a0<\/span>finance or provide jobs for their families with high salaries. Relatives of the regime\u2019s top officials could use their family connections to achieve top position<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0in the government or own huge and profitable businesses and contracts.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So many of the regime\u2019s top officials are using this corrupted family relations and recommend top posts for their relatives to take or leave their hands open to usurp properties and commercial companies<\/span>. They also use their influence so their relatives could earn maximum interests. Revolutionary Guards (IRGC)<\/a> Major general Ali Shamkhani in one of these officials. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ali\u00a0<\/span>Shamkhani<\/span>\u00a0is the secretary of the regime\u2019s Supreme National Security Council<\/span>, one of the regime\u2019s top authorities, who started his work as a<\/span>n IRGC<\/span>\u00a0commander during the Iran-Iraq war<\/span>, rising in the ranks of the\u00a0<\/span>IRGC<\/span>. He is<\/span>\u00a0now\u00a0<\/span>a super-corrupt official. He and his ilk are among many symbols of the regime\u2019s \u201csystematic corruption.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>Shamkhani is also a member of the regime\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>State\u00a0<\/span>Expediency Discernment Council.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Shamkhani has an important role in\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>regime\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>important security and military decisions and has used his influence in the IRGC to\u00a0<\/span>create a<\/span>\u00a0separate and independent corruption constituency\u00a0<\/span>for his relatives to profit.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Due to the\u00a0<\/span>parallel\u00a0<\/span>increasing infighting of the regime\u2019s factions<\/span>\u00a0and their relatives\u2019 corruption<\/span>, and\u00a0<\/span>the people\u2019s general knowledge about these issues, particularly officials<\/span>\u2019<\/span>\u00a0astronomical\u00a0<\/span>salaries,\u00a0<\/span>Shamkhani<\/span>\u00a0was also mentioned in the state-run media amid\u00a0<\/span>various news of corruption.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Although the regime\u2019s security institutions, particularly the IRGC\u2019s <\/a>Intelligence Organization, did not allow th<\/span>ese individuals\u2019 lifestyle to be known to<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0public, some of the regime\u2019s elements tried to grapple with\u00a0<\/span>these mafias, such as Shamkhani\u2019s family.\u00a0 These officials made some revelations, which were only parts of\u00a0<\/span>two rival factions\u2019 fighting over more share of power. They try to eliminate one another to have more share of\u00a0<\/span>Iran\u2019s rich resources and national wealth.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Yet, the revelation of Shamkhani\u2019s gang\u00a0<\/span>and their corruption by the rival faction gives us this opportunity to understand more\u00a0<\/span>about the regime\u2019s institutionalized and systematic corruption.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How the revelations sparked?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On September 19 and 20, 2018,\u00a0<\/span>Seyyed<\/span>\u00a0Mehdi Sadr al-<\/span>Sadati<\/span>, in two Instagram posts, made allegations about Ali Shamkhani’s family that caused a wave in the Iranian media and\u00a0<\/span>cyberspace.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>A<\/span>\u00a0closer look at the regime’s media coverage, as well as the pro-government and anti-government networks, reveals more knowledge of Shamkhani’s gang<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But before addressing the Shamkhani gang, this question must be answered: \u200c\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Who is Mehdi Sadr al-<\/span><\/b>Sadati<\/span><\/b>?\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u200c<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Seyyed<\/span>\u00a0Mehdi Sadr al-<\/span>Sadati<\/span> is the son-in-law of\u00a0<\/span>Mullah<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Seyyed<\/span>\u00a0Mohammad Reza\u00a0<\/span>Modarresi<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Yazdi<\/span>, one of the mullahs of the regime’s Guardian Council. He is a seminary student living in the city of Qom who, in recent years, has been exposing the economic corruption of the regime’s managers, senior officials, their relatives and entourage with a group of so-called “justice-seeking” youth<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His brother,\u00a0<\/span>Seyyed<\/span>\u00a0Ruhollah Sadr al-<\/span>Sadati<\/span>\u00a0(born 1983), is the youngest member of the regime’s Assembly of Experts<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>Sadr al-<\/span>Sadati<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0have made a lot of headlines in Iran\u2019s media and on the internet by claiming\u00a0<\/span>they are defending justice and making revelations of other officials<\/span>\u2019<\/span>\u00a0lavish\u00a0<\/span>lifestyles<\/span>. Yet these so-called \u201cJustice seeking\u201d mullahs are both member<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0of a wealthy family and\u00a0<\/span>sons of another regime-affiliated corrupt family, attacking other corrupt officials and the rival faction.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>Sadr<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>al-<\/span>Sadatis<\/span>\u2019 strong family relationship with some\u00a0<\/span>members\u00a0<\/span>of the Guardian Council and the\u00a0<\/span>Assembly of Experts as well as some renowned Shiite clerics in Qom have made these two mullahs able to attack the rival faction; although after they got closer to the top of\u00a0<\/span>the regime\u2019s \u201cpyramid of corruption,\u201d\u00a0<\/span>where<\/span>\u00a0supreme leader Ali Khamenei<\/span>\u00a0is situated<\/span>, they were stopped by the IRGC intelligence.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sh<\/span><\/b>ocking news for Shamkhani and his family<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mehdi Sadr al-<\/span>Sadati<\/span>, i<\/span>n\u00a0<\/span>his<\/span>\u00a0Instagram post published on September 19, 2018, wrote<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMr. Shamkhani is the secretary of the National Security Council.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hossein Shamkhani, the eldest son of Mr. Shamkhani, is the director of Admiral Shipping and, according to his Facebook account, is a graduate of Lebanese American University.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The cost of each semester is up to $10,000 at this university. Hassan Shamkhani, another son, is also one of the company’s managers. Young nephews of Mr. Shamkhani, Mohammad\u00a0<\/span>Hadi<\/span>\u00a0Shamkhani, is an expert on political affairs in Russia<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Mo<\/span>\u2019o<\/span>ud<\/span>\u00a0Shamkhani is the technical deputy of\u00a0<\/span>Arvand<\/span>\u00a0Free Zone Organization. But the most important person is Mr. Shamkhani himself. What is\u00a0<\/span>his\u00a0<\/span>career<\/span>? What does Mr. Shamkhani himself, the secretary of the National Security Council, do?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

A<\/span>\u00a0day<\/span>\u00a0later<\/span>, in another Instagram post published on September 20, 2018, Sadr<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>al<\/span>–<\/span>Sadati<\/span>\u00a0revealed another interesting\u00a0<\/span>information:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBy<\/span>\u00a0the way, I missed\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>very important person among Mr. Shamkhani\u2019s relatives. Azim Shamkhani. Why\u00a0<\/span>do\u00a0<\/span>I call him important?\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Because I did not see news agencies in Khuzestan province protest that why you [regime\u2019s officials] have given a\u00a0<\/span>high school graduate [Azim Shamkhani] very important managing positions as high as the deputy mayor of the city of Ahvaz.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Why did you stutter? Are you afraid because he represented Mohsen Rezaei and is Shamkhani’s brother<\/span>?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

D<\/span>o not be scared<\/span>. N<\/span>othing\u00a0<\/span>will\u00a0<\/span>happen<\/span>. C<\/span>hallenge the mayor and the governor and Mr. Shamkhani himself.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tell me, how can someone who was born in 1988 and has\u00a0<\/span>a high<\/span>\u00a0school diploma, according to a member of the city council, become the director of Ahvaz’s beautification\u00a0<\/span>organization?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Then the deputy of municipal services? Then the deputy mayor? Then the head of the Municipalities Cooperation Organization etc.<\/span>?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Some of these jobs are managing and directing more than a few thousand professionals<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is important, with respect to the information revealed by Sadr-al\u00a0<\/span>Sadati<\/span>, to provide more details about the people<\/span>\u00a0of which<\/span>\u00a0he spoke.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Abdolazim<\/span>\u00a0Shamkhani, Ali Shamkhani\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>stepbrother<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>was\u00a0<\/span>born in 1988. At the age of 25 with a high school diploma,\u00a0<\/span>he\u00a0<\/span>was appointed CEO of the Ahvaz Beautification Organization. Then, due to his family relations, in 2017, he became the managing director of the Khuzestan Municipalities Cooperation Organization. He was in this position until February 2017. He was later fired for large-scale embezzlement and his incapability in management. Of course, he had other positions in his youth which are very noticeable how he achieved such positions by using his family relationship with Shamkhani. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Other\u00a0<\/span>positions held by<\/span>\u00a0this corrupt person include the following:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u200c- The representative of the Secretary of the Expediency Council in Khuzestan province,\u00a0 when he was 22 years old<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

– Head of Advertising Department of Khuzestan Islamic Development Coordinating Council, when he was 23 years old<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

– Special Inspector of the General Inspectorate of Khuzestan Governorate, at the age of 23<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hossein and Hassan Shamkhani are the two sons of Ali Shamkhani.\u00a0<\/span>Both of them<\/span> are directors of Admiral Shipping Company, which has offices in Dubai, India, and Iran.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Admiral Shipping Company was established in 2011 by several young members of the Shamkhani family<\/span>. Now it\u00a0<\/span>has\u00a0<\/span>a<\/span>\u00a0capacity of 16000\u00a0<\/span>TEU-maritime<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in the Persian Gulf, the Indian Ocean, and the ports <\/span>at<\/span>\u00a0the Far East<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0where<\/span>\u00a0the Admiral Shipping Company can provide container transport services. This shows that the Shamkhani family is deeply involved\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>has<\/span>\u00a0an<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>open hand<\/span>\u00a0in smuggling and illegal transit<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mo<\/span>\u2019o<\/span>ud<\/span> Shamkhani, the nephew of Ali Shamkhani, born in 1987, was appointed as the technical and civil deputy of\u00a0<\/span>Arvand<\/span>\u00a0Free Zone Organization in 2015<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mo\u2019oud\u00a0<\/span>Shamkhani has made a lot of money in the many projects he has earned through this job. In January 2019, the\u00a0<\/span>Arvand<\/span>\u00a0Kabir\u00a0<\/span>Coastalization<\/span>\u00a0Project was inaugurated, which included the construction of a two-lane asphalt road, the construction of a bridge and a protective fence around the road, and the provision of road lighting, which will continue for about 11 km along the coast of the\u00a0<\/span>Arvand<\/span>\u00a0River<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Among his other actions is the creation of services and facilities for the\u00a0<\/span>Arbaeen<\/span><\/i>\u00a0march and the dispatch of caravans from Iran to Iraq, which is<\/span>\u00a0another<\/span>\u00a0part of\u00a0<\/span>the financial\u00a0<\/span>empire\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Shamkhani\u00a0<\/span>Gang<\/span>\u00a0in southern Iran<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>Arbaeen<\/span>\u00a0ceremony, which is held to commemorate the martyrdom of Shiite<\/span>\u00a0Islam<\/span>\u2019s Third Imam, H<\/span>o<\/span>ssain-ibn Ali,\u00a0<\/span>has been a source of income and a channel to smuggle weapon<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0to Iraq, where Imam Hossain is buried, for the mullahs\u2019 regime.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mohammad\u00a0<\/span>Hadi<\/span>\u00a0Shamkhani, another nephew of Ali Shamkhani, is a Middle East political expert residing in Russia and works at the regime\u2019s embassy in\u00a0<\/span>that country. He is a graduate of the Islamic Azad University and was immediately turned <\/span>in<\/span>to a political expert.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Special Court for Clerics announced the arrest of Mehdi Sadr<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>al<\/span>–<\/span>Sadati<\/span>\u00a0on\u00a0<\/span>November 20, 2018,<\/span>\u00a0with four\u00a0<\/span>private plaintiffs. This news met many reactions and was widely covered by the media. Yet, state-run media announced his release after a very short time.\u00a0<\/span>Sadr<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>al<\/span>–<\/span>Sadati\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0arrest was\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>sign of Shamkhani\u2019s first reaction, who did not want these two brothers<\/span>\u00a0to<\/span>\u00a0delve further into his family\u2019s ring of corruption.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yet<\/span>, these rivalries entered a new phase.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mehdi Sadr<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>al<\/span>–<\/span>Sadati<\/span>\u00a0published fresh accusation<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0against Shamkhani and his family i<\/span>n a post on his Telegram account on August 14, 2019<\/span>.\u00a0 This post was titled \u201cWhen\u00a0<\/span>w<\/span>ill<\/span>\u00a0you be satisfied?\u201d\u00a0<\/span>a sarcas<\/span>tic remark, referring\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>Shamkhani family\u2019s greed<\/span>, underlining that this greed, shared among all the regime\u2019s officials<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0will never end.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These<\/span> revelations were particularly of Zeinab Shamkhani, Ali Shamkhani\u2019s daughter, and her husband Hassan Mir-<\/span>Mohammadali<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>who is well known for his corruption in building luxury villas and\u00a0<\/span>a<\/span>\u00a0known speculator.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sadr<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>al<\/span>–<\/span>Sadati<\/span>\u00a0wrote: \u201c<\/span>The 920-meter property on Khaled\u00a0<\/span>Eslambouli<\/span> Street with two additional floors and more than 4,000 square meters of the useful residential building, as well as the 750-meter property in Pasdaran belonging to Zeinab Shamkhani, daughter of Ali Shamkhani, a 6,000-meter Iran Khodro dealership and\u00a0<\/span>Lavasan<\/span>\u00a0villa are among the assets of Shamkhani’s daughter and son-in-law.\u00a0 Also, the family tower on Fereshteh Street in a 2600-meter property is named after Shamkhani’s wife, and this family also owns property in Ahvaz,\u00a0<\/span>Dezful,<\/span>\u00a0and the north.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Sadr<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>al<\/span>–<\/span>Sadati<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>Shamkhani’s family also received extensive construction permits in Tehran,\u00a0<\/span>Lavasan<\/span>, Ahvaz, Shush, and northern Iran. He later revealed that the apartment complex worth one\u00a0<\/span>trillion<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>tomans<\/span>\u00a0on Fereshteh Street in Tehran belonged to\u00a0<\/span>Azarmidokht<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Tabatabai<\/span>, Ali Shamkhani’s wife.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These revelations\u00a0<\/span>spark<\/span>\u00a0this question: Weren\u2019t there any\u00a0<\/span>supervisory body to prevent Shamkhani\u2019s family from further plundering\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>nation\u2019s wealth and misus<\/span>ing their positions<\/span>?\u00a0<\/span>How is it that a<\/span>\u00a0regime that tightly controls Iranian citizen<\/span>s<\/span>, intervenes in their personal\u00a0<\/span>lives, and most importantly oppresses them is not able to control its own authorities?\u00a0<\/span>Obviously<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0all\u00a0<\/span>the regime\u2019s so-called security and supervisory bodies are deeply involved in corruption. These revelations are not\u00a0<\/span>signs<\/span>\u00a0of a democratic country where people\u00a0<\/span>could freely speak of authorities\u2019 corruption, ending in their arrest or resignation. These are parts of the regime\u2019s infightings over more share of power, national\u00a0<\/span>wealth,<\/span>\u00a0and Iran\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>resources.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Shamkhani in the spotlight of the state media<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The state-run\u00a0<\/span>Ensaf<\/span>\u00a0News website on March 6, 2019, following\u00a0<\/span>some revelations made by\u00a0<\/span>Milad<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Go<\/span>o<\/span>darzi<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>member of Sadr<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>al<\/span>–<\/span>Sadati\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0\u201cJusti<\/span>ce Seeking Youth<\/span>,<\/span>\u201d published a report of Villas and luxury houses in\u00a0<\/span>Lavasan<\/span>\u00a0and busty hills in Tehran.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In a part of this report, it is mentioned that <\/span>Goodarzi<\/span>\u00a0went to\u00a0<\/span>Lavasan<\/span>\u00a0to investigate the luxury villas of Shamkhani and his partners, and there he met Shamkhani’s son-in-law, Hassan Mir Mohammad\u00a0<\/span>Ali.<\/span>\u00a0Mir Mohammad Ali tries to present himself as someone\u00a0<\/span>else, trying<\/span>\u00a0to get away from the issue, but still makes significant points in his speeches. In fact, Hassan Mir Mohammad Ali, Shamkhani’s son-in-law, is one of the most famous villa builders in\u00a0<\/span>Lavasan<\/span>\u00a0district<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The most important issue, in this case, was<\/span>\u00a0that<\/span>\u00a0Hassan Mir Mohammad Ali<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>act<\/span>ed<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>to avoid his\u00a0<\/span>true identity<\/span>\u00a0being\u00a0<\/span>exposed, which in fact confirmed violations\u00a0<\/span>in building villas by this person and other villa builders in\u00a0<\/span>Lavas<\/span>a<\/span>n<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>In this case, Shamkhani’s son-in-law introduces himself as the contractor of the building and denies his identity, after which he confirms the existence of widespread violations in this area. He further confirms deliberate violations of certain legal limits by those who build villas in the area and avoid them by paying a fine under Article 100. These were part of Mir Mohammad Ali’s remarks about villa builders in the\u00a0<\/span>Lavasan<\/span>\u00a0district,\u00a0<\/span>and they\u00a0<\/span>created a lot of speculation in the Media<\/span>,\u201d read the report.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The clip of\u00a0<\/span>Goudarzi<\/span>, the so-called independent journalist, visiting\u00a0<\/span>Lavasan<\/span>\u00a0and speaking with Shamkhani\u2019s son-in-law speaks for itself:<\/span><\/p>\n

The state-run <\/span>Ensaf<\/span>\u00a0News website published\u00a0<\/span>a report on October 21, 2019, on the villas in\u00a0<\/span>Lavasan<\/span>\u00a0district. It read:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>After Milad\u00a0<\/span>Go<\/span>u<\/span>darzi’s<\/span>\u00a0video, a reporter attributed to the justice-seeking movement and his revelations about Hassan Mir Mohammad Ali (Ali Shamkhani’s son-in-law), we went to his villa to take a closer look at the events in\u00a0<\/span>Lavasan<\/span>. Mir Mohammad Ali believed that although he had violated some law in the construction of his villa, those who accused him did not have a clear case either. He says that in\u00a0<\/span>Lavasan<\/span>, construction violations are common and that the municipality receives the relevant fine, which is legal. Therefore, if the violation is not to become a fine, treat everyone <\/span>in\u00a0<\/span>the same manner<\/span>.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mir Mohammad Ali speaking of paying \u201cfines\u201d to the municipality is indeed\u00a0<\/span>bribing the municipality, a common method among regime\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>officials to justify their actions.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The state-run\u00a0<\/span>Entekhab<\/span> website published a video clip\u00a0in\u00a0<\/span>August 2019,\u00a0<\/span>regarding Shamkhani Family\u2019s corruption<\/span>, showing some aspects of this case.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When\u00a0<\/span>the situation was\u00a0<\/span>running<\/span>\u00a0out of control, the IRGC\u2019s Intelligence intervened and Shamkhani used his connections to\u00a0<\/span>settle the situation.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A month after Sadr<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>al<\/span>–<\/span>Sadatis<\/span>‘<\/span>\u00a0last revelation, the news of their disappearance circulated in the media\u00a0<\/span>along with two of their companions. They were going to\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>airport to travel to Band<\/span>a<\/span>r\u00a0<\/span>Abbas<\/span>, southwestern Iran, but this trip never\u00a0<\/span>happened,<\/span>\u00a0and they were missing for\u00a0<\/span>three<\/span>\u00a0days.\u00a0<\/span> There were rumors of their abduction by security forces. Some of the state-run media pointed to \u201c<\/span>self-hiding.\u201d Th<\/span>e situation even compelled\u00a0<\/span>the Secretariat of the Assembly of Experts to issue\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>press release<\/span>, stating it is following up\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>Sadr<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>al<\/span>–<\/span>Sadaites<\/span>\u2019\u00a0<\/span>situation<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally,<\/span>\u00a0on\u00a0<\/span>September\u00a0<\/span>7, 2019, Seyed Ruhollah Sadr<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>al<\/span>–<\/span>Sadati<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>member of the regime\u2019s Assembly of Experts, in a post published on his brother<\/span>\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0Te<\/span>legram Channel explained\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0following about their circumstances<\/span>:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>I,\u00a0<\/span>Seyyed<\/span>\u00a0Ruhollah Sadr al-<\/span>Sadati<\/span>, a member of the Assembly of Experts, have repeatedly talked to officials about the tasks set by the Supreme Leader for members of our Assembly, including examining the country’s progress toward major goals of the Islamic Revolution and monitoring roadblocks. I did so and pointed out to the necessary steps to fulfill this goal, but unfortunately, I saw that there were many infiltrators among them<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>It became clear that the infiltration project, which is explicitly mentioned in the Supreme Leader’s orders, is very serious and pervasive, and the most important examples of this are among the scholars of the seminary and the intelligence and security organizations. I continued my efforts, but I found no\u00a0<\/span>resolution to\u00a0<\/span>correct things among these infiltrators. They rejected even giving me one answer. Instead, they took advantage of their situation day by day, sometimes by spreading rumors against me and sometimes by threatening and harassing my family and friends, and they wanted to silence me<\/span>.<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Through the supreme leader’s institution of representative offices in universities, the\u00a0<\/span>organization\u00a0<\/span>of the Holy Mosque of\u00a0<\/span>Jamkaran<\/span>, the office of some clerics, etc. all over the country, they\u00a0<\/span>spread rumors<\/span>\u00a0that this gentleman [Sadr<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>al<\/span>–<\/span>Sadati<\/span>] is anti-revolutionary and\u00a0<\/span>opposed to the\u00a0<\/span>supreme\u00a0<\/span>leader.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>He<\/span>\u00a0is one of the mainstays of false mysticism and so on. In meetings with friends, the Qom IRGC’s intelligence chief repeatedly threatened to arrest and imprison me, attack my home, and harass my family. I have some of these threats recorded<\/span>,\u201d he continued.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>I complained to the judiciary, the Special Court for the Clergy, the Guardian Council, the Assembly of Experts, and anyone who might have the influence to help me against these atrocities, but these infiltrators were also there, and I was actually complaining to myself. Eventually, I found no refuge other than the Supreme Leader, and I wrote several letters in this regard, but <\/span>unfortunately,<\/span>\u00a0I did not receive any response from his office. I even sent several people to share this information with him, but\u00a0<\/span>apparently,<\/span>\u00a0they were not successful<\/span>,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>It is very disappointing that a member of the Assembly of Experts will not be able to convey anything from his constituents to their leader for\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>few years.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>But the recent incident was that I\u00a0<\/span>decided to travel to investigate some of the issues that the infiltrators had created in my constituency, and I was threatened that if I do, I would be killed<\/span>,\u201d read the Telegram post.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>On the way, due to the fact that I did not want to have seizures and conflicts and I did not see this in the interests of the country, I changed my decision and with my companions, we turned off our phones so that we would not be tracked, and went to a place away from the public<\/span>.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>When it is possible to lie easily in the most important security tribunes of the Islamic Republic and never be held accountable, does this not indicate infiltration?! Is it not a sign of deviation from our\u00a0<\/span>ideals, when<\/span>\u00a0the family of a representative of the leadership’s experts can be easily and without fear of the consequences threatened to\u00a0<\/span>death?<\/span>\u00a0If the Revolutionary Guards, which\u00a0<\/span>are\u00a0<\/span>very dear to us [regime], and until now, if it they were not present the revolution would not have survived, have th<\/span>is many<\/span>\u00a0corrupt person<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0in its ranks, doesn’t this indicate infiltration<\/span>?<\/span>\u201d he added.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the importan<\/span><\/b>ce of Sadr<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>al<\/span><\/b>–<\/span><\/b>Sadati\u2019s<\/span><\/b>\u00a0remarks?\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sadr-al\u00a0<\/span>Sadati\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0remarks, as a\u00a0<\/span>member of the regime\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>Assembly of Experts,<\/span>\u00a0are very important and spark several important questions:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How\u00a0<\/span>could the IRGC\u2019s Intelligence chief in the city of Qom\u00a0<\/span>threaten a member of the Assembly of Expert<\/span>s<\/span>, which has\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>high place in the regime\u2019s hierarchy,<\/span>\u00a0to death and detention? What has happened behind the scene<\/span>s<\/span>?\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Why<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>did\u00a0<\/span>Khamenei\u2019s office refuse to answer and protect Sadr<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>al-<\/span>Sadati<\/span>? Is<\/span>\u00a0it not<\/span> because Khamenei himself is at the top of 2. the regime\u2019s <\/span>hierarchy<\/span>\u00a0of\u00a0<\/span>institutionalized and systematic corruption?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. What is this project of infiltration\u00a0<\/span>of which\u00a0<\/span>Sadr<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>al<\/span>–<\/span>Sadati<\/span>\u00a0speaks<\/span>?<\/span>\u00a0H<\/span>as\u00a0<\/span>it<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>advanced and penetrated even<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>supreme leader and other important mullahs\u2019 offices? Weren\u2019t the IRGC elements\u00a0<\/span>controlling\u00a0<\/span>and<\/span>\u00a0spread<\/span>ing<\/span>\u00a0all the regime\u2019s structure<\/span>?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The case of\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>Sadr<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>al<\/span>–<\/span>Sadati<\/span>\u00a0brothers, which started with exposing corruption\u00a0<\/span>by the\u00a0<\/span>Shamkhani family\u00a0<\/span>and had such consequences for these two brothers<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0confirms how untouchable the regime\u2019s corrupted officials are.\u00a0<\/span>This is why<\/span>\u00a0citizen journalists and\u00a0<\/span>people are afraid of approaching these murderous thugs ruling Iran. Imagine\u00a0<\/span>if\u00a0<\/span>instead of these two brothers, who are part of this regime, there were two ordinary citizens challenging\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>Shamkhanis<\/span>\u2019 corruption or any other IRGC members<\/span>. W<\/span>hat would\u00a0<\/span>be<\/span>\u00a0the result?\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    These infighting<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0and revelations\u00a0<\/span>show<\/span>\u00a0how the IRGC and the mullahs\u2019 regime have taken Iran\u00a0<\/span>and its resources hostage, and when their circle of corruption is exposed<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0they show no mercy to\u00a0<\/span>w<\/span>hoever expose<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0them.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    When it comes to the IRGC\u2019s interests, when\u00a0<\/span>revelations of\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>Sadr<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>al<\/span>–<\/span>Sadati<\/span> brothers of Shamkhani\u2019s corruption approach fields in which the IRGC<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>are\u00a0<\/span>involved, they are silenced and threatened to death.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    In a nutshell,\u00a0the IRGC mafia is greedy.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Although the destruction of Shamkhani’s son-in-law’s villa was finally on the agenda and its verdict was made public, the fact that in\u00a0<\/span>Lavasan<\/span>\u00a0or other luxury places, the children of officials and small and large government officials and IRGC<\/a> leaders have built several villas\u00a0<\/span>with\u00a0<\/span>much land and pool<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>a<\/span>nd garden<\/span>s<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>is still there and there are no statistics.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Most interestingly, the silence of Ali Shamkhani, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, made public opinion more sensitive, and many people realized at the height of the economic and livelihood crisis<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0how corrupt the regime and the IRGC leaders\u00a0<\/span>are. And while poor people are grappling with the coronavirus and poverty, the regime\u2019s officials are continuing their luxury lives by plundering people\u2019s wealth.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
