NCRI –\u00a0Public discontent inside Iran is rising more than ever. The US-based Arabic Institute has recently released figures highlighting Iranian people\u2019s dissatisfaction with Iranian regime\u2019s intervention in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen. Dr. Mohammad al-Moslemi from Gulf Center for Iranian Studies has commented in this regard in his interview with Al-Arabiya TV:<\/p>\n

Rafsanjani was more of a symbol of the Iranian regime compared to Khamenei and other regime\u2019s leaders. As a result, when the last symbol of a system dies, a lot of shaking will occur within the regime. Wide discrepancies will emerge. This will be more visible with regard to appointing Rafsanjani\u2019s successor in the Expediency Council. We saw slogans against the Iranian regime during Rafsanjani\u2019s funeral. This frightens the regime. Iranian regime doesn\u2019t want youth to take to the streets on any occasion.<\/p>\n
Ever since coming to power following the anti-monarchy revolution, the Iranian regime has attempted to run away from such domestic issues as social and people\u2019s rights, attempting to transmit them to neighboring and Arabic countries by planting hidden and revealed hands and militias. Following the nuclear deal, people were hoping that their living conditions were going to improve. One year after the nuclear deal, however, 73 percent of people believe that nothing in their lives has ever changed.<\/p>\n
Dr. Mohammad al-Moslemi adds: Iranian regime doesn\u2019t want domestic issues to be resolved, but is seeking to engage people in foreign affairs. When domestic issues are resolved, the big question will arise and that\u2019s the regime\u2019s legitimacy, and Vilayat-e-faqih legitimacy, for that matter.
