The 11<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0term of the Iranian regime\u2019s parliament, which is\u00a0<\/span>in line with the regime\u2019s contraction policy,<\/span>\u00a0and its position, with having many of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC)<\/a> and\u00a0<\/span>Basij<\/span>\u00a0militia commanders<\/span>\u00a0as so-called members<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0confirm\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>regime\u2019s intention to increase its global terrorism and domestic oppression.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the nationwide Iran protests in November with over 1500 martyrs, the regime\u2019s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, was\u00a0<\/span>the first to understand that people\u2019s conflict with his regime has passed an irreversible point. With people chanting \u201cReformists, Hardliner, the game is over,\u201d Khamenei\u00a0<\/span>understood that his maneuver of so-called \u201creformism\u201d has ended, and he cannot use it to further manipulate the society.\u00a0<\/span>In addition, the regime\u2019s increasing\u00a0<\/span>international isolation proved that\u00a0<\/span>the so-called \u201creformist\u201d faction, led by the regime\u2019s President Hassan Rouhani and consist<\/span>ing<\/span>\u00a0of the regime\u2019s top security officials, ha<\/span>d<\/span>\u00a0failed\u00a0<\/span>in pursuing and making the policy of appeasement as effective as before for the regime. Therefore, facing a restive society and engulfed with various crisis, Khamenei massively purged<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0rival faction\u2019s candidates<\/span>\u00a0for the sham parliamentary elections<\/span>, as a\u00a0<\/span>new phase of his contraction policy.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The regime\u2019s contraction policy is based on more domestic oppression and the export of terrorism. A glance at the background of some of the new parliament\u00a0<\/span>members and\u00a0<\/span>their positions in the past few days confirms Khamenei<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s goal of handpicking\u00a0<\/span>these so-called\u00a0<\/span>lawmakers<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Recent positions by the regime\u2019s MP<\/span>s<\/span>:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ali Mousavi, MP from the city of\u00a0<\/span>M<\/span>a<\/span>l<\/span>e<\/span>kan<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>East\u00a0<\/span>Az<\/span>e<\/span>rbaijan<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>during Majlis\u2019s [parliament] public session on Sunday, said:\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>We should name this parliament after martyr\u00a0<\/span>Qassem<\/span>\u00a0Soleimani [IRGC\u2019s Quds Force eliminated\u00a0<\/span>commander and the regime\u2019s terror mastermind<\/span>]<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and we should pursue\u00a0<\/span>his doctrine.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mohammad Bagher\u00a0<\/span>Qalibaf<\/span><\/a>, the parliament new speaker: \u201cIf\u00a0<\/span>it\u00a0<\/span>weren\u2019t\u00a0<\/span>for<\/span>\u00a0the actions of our soldiers and extraterritorial\u00a0<\/span>guardians of the Islamic Revolution [IRGC and its terrorist Quds Force<\/a>]<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0the enemy\u00a0<\/span>would have<\/span>\u00a0done anything it could<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and they had plans for\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>streets of Tehran.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In another speech,\u00a0<\/span>Qalibaf<\/span><\/a>\u00a0had said:\u00a0<\/span>\u201cThe system<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s achievement\u00a0<\/span>has<\/span>\u00a0been rendered due to the efforts made by people like\u00a0<\/span>Qassem<\/span>\u00a0Soleimani.\u201d He continued: \u201cThe Eleventh Majlis considers strong confrontation with foreign enemies, especially the United States and the Zionist regime, as one of its basic principles and will not hesitate in confronting the opposition and internal hypocrites. The 11th parliament has pledged to continue the path of Martyr Soleimani in increasing the power of the Axis of Resistance as an unchangeable strategy. It considers supporting the Palestinian people, Hezbollah in Lebanon, resistance groups, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the oppressed people of Yemen as its revolutionary and national duty. Negotiation and compromise with the U.S. as the axis of Global Arrogance is considered fruitless and harmful.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A glance at the background of some of the regime\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>new MPs:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mohammad Bagher\u00a0<\/span>Qalibaf<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>regime\u2019s new parliament speaker<\/span>:\u00a0<\/span>He was\u00a0<\/span>one of the\u00a0<\/span>top\u00a0<\/span>commanders of the IRGC in the Iran-Iraq war<\/span>\u00a0and after the war. Some of the positions he held include\u00a0<\/span>Commander of IRGC\u2019s Khatam Al-<\/span>Anbia<\/span>\u00a0Construction Camp\u00a0<\/span>(from\u00a0<\/span>1994 to 1997<\/span>),<\/span>\u00a0Commander of the IRGC Air Force<\/span>\u00a0(<\/span>1997-2000<\/span>),<\/span>\u00a0Commander-in-Chief of the police force\u00a0<\/span>(<\/span>2000 to 2005<\/span>). He is a leading figure of corruption in the regime<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>as the former mayor of Tehran<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0he is accused of systematic embezzlements and corruption.\u00a0<\/span>During\u00a0<\/span>Qalibaf\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>term\u00a0<\/span>as Tehran\u2019s mayor, the transfer of property at a quarter of the price to senior municipal officials and some members of the Tehran City Council, as well as IRGC<\/a> commanders, and land acquisition in different parts of Tehran became routine.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ahmad Amir Abadi<\/span>\u00a0Farahani<\/span>, MP from Qom,\u00a0<\/span>m<\/span>ember of the\u00a0<\/span>Majlis\u00a0<\/span>Presidium<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>According to the information published on his website,\u00a0<\/span>Ahmad Amir Abadi is an IRGC<\/a> member, <\/span>and<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>participated<\/span>\u00a0in the Iran-Iraq war<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0Farahani has held various\u00a0<\/span>positions as\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>commander in different part<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0of the IRGC. He\u00a0<\/span>had also been responsible for the IRGC\u2019s cultural division in Qom. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mohammad Hoss<\/span>e<\/span>in\u00a0<\/span>Farhangi<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0MP from\u00a0<\/span>East\u00a0<\/span>Azerbaijan province,<\/span>\u00a0Majlis Presidium\u2019s speaker<\/span>:\u00a0<\/span>He<\/span>\u00a0is a senior commander of the IRGC in Azerbaijan. During the Iran-Iraq War, he was the Chief of Staff of the 31st Ashura Division, one of the most important and largest divisions of the IRGC in the war. After the war, Mohammad Hossein\u00a0<\/span>Farhangi<\/span>\u00a0was appointed as the commander of the\u00a0<\/span>Basij<\/span>\u00a0and then commander of the IRGC<\/a> provincial division in East\u00a0<\/span>Azerbaijan<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hosse<\/span>in Ali Haji\u00a0<\/span>Deligani<\/span>, member of the Majlis’ presidium\u00a0<\/span>from Isfahan province:\u00a0<\/span>During the Iran-Iraq War,\u00a0<\/span>Deligani<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0w<\/span>as the commander of a<\/span>n<\/span>\u00a0IRGC<\/a> company, and after the war, he commanded the\u00a0<\/span>Basij<\/span>\u00a0in the IRGC division of\u00a0<\/span>Zarrinshahr<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Najafabad<\/span>, and Isfahan. He\u00a0<\/span>wa<\/span>s the initiator of the plan\u00a0<\/span>for\u00a0<\/span>all the regime’s MPs in the previous parliament\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>wear\u00a0<\/span>an\u00a0<\/span>IRGC uniform after the IRGC was listed as a\u00a0<\/span>terrorist organization by the United States and simultaneous with the day of the Revolutionary Guards in Iran.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mohsen\u00a0<\/span>Dehnavi<\/span>,\u00a0a <\/span>member of the Majlis’ presidium<\/span>:\u00a0<\/span>He\u00a0was in charge of\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>Student\u00a0<\/span>Basij<\/span>\u00a0at<\/span>\u00a0the Sharif University of Technology, one of the most important universities in Iran. He is also a member of the Council for Explaining the Political Positions of the Student\u00a0<\/span>Basij<\/span>\u00a0in Tehran Province, which is in fact a political branch of the Student\u00a0<\/span>Basij<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Dehnavi<\/span>, who was\u00a0<\/span>posing<\/span>\u00a0as a cancer researcher, was detained at Boston’s Logan Airport on July 11<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>2017,<\/span>\u00a0and later sent back to Iran<\/span>\u00a0for his\u00a0<\/span>connections with the IRGC and\u00a0<\/span>Basij<\/span>\u00a0forces.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Alireza\u00a0<\/span>Zakani<\/span>, former commander of the Iranian Student\u00a0<\/span>Basij<\/span>, MP from Qom:\u00a0<\/span>Known as one of the c<\/span>losest MPs to Khamenei,\u00a0<\/span>Alireza\u00a0<\/span>Zakani<\/span>, has been a\u00a0<\/span>lawmaker<\/span>\u00a0in the seventh, eighth and ninth terms<\/span>\u00a0of Parliament<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Zakani<\/span>\u00a0was one of the commanders of the 27th Division of Mohammad\u00a0<\/span>Ras<\/span>u<\/span>l<\/span>o<\/span>llah<\/span>\u00a0during the Iran-Iraq War<\/span>. He\u00a0<\/span>has a 62-month history of participating in the war and 15 operations.\u00a0<\/span>Zakani<\/span>\u00a0is one of the founders of the Student\u00a0<\/span>Basij<\/span>, as the most important\u00a0<\/span>subordinate force<\/span>\u00a0of the IRGC<\/a> in universities across the country.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A\u00a0<\/span>glance at the regime\u2019s new parliament shows that Khamenei and his regime are intending to increase oppression and terrorism.<\/span>\u00a0While people are grappling with poverty\u00a0<\/span>and the coronavirus crisis,\u00a0<\/span>the regime\u2019s handpicked parliament shows how the regime prioritize<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0its rule over people\u2019s well-being.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This critical situation,\u00a0<\/span>increased\u00a0<\/span>by the coronavirus crisis, has terrified the regime\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>forces<\/span>\u00a0and pushed them to the brink of defection. They are particularly\u00a0<\/span>afraid<\/span>\u00a0of the people\u2019s uprising<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>This new parliament<\/span>\u00a0showed the regime\u2019s strategic roadmap,\u202fwhich is\u202fa\u202fpolicy\u202fof\u202fcontraction in all aspects, including in dealing with the U.S.<\/span>,<\/span>\u202fand has shattered<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>hopes and dreams of negotiations\u00a0<\/span>of all\u00a0<\/span>the regime\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>apologists<\/span>\u00a0and lover<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0of the appeasement\u00a0<\/span>policy<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Therefore,\u00a0<\/span>to prevent further oppression of the Iranian people and\u00a0<\/span>to ensure\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>security\u00a0<\/span>of\u00a0<\/span>the Middle East and the world<\/span>, the international<\/span>\u00a0community should\u00a0<\/span>choose a firm policy toward this regime and recognize\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>people\u2019s right to Resistance and overthrowing this regime<\/span>, which is a global threat to peace, security, and humanity.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
