Iran: Fordow enrichment facilities<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The United Nations nuclear\u00a0<\/span>watchdog<\/span>\u00a0and nuclear experts\u00a0<\/span>are\u00a0<\/span>concern<\/span>ed<\/span>\u00a0over the Iranian regime<\/span>\u2019s nuclear\u00a0<\/span>activities<\/span>, with some of them warning the mullahs\u2019 regime<\/span>\u00a0is months away from obtaining a nuclear weapon.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Durin<\/span>g<\/span>\u00a0an online conference<\/a> held by the National Council of Resistance of Iran<\/a>, Dr. Olli\u00a0<\/span>Heinonen,\u00a0<\/span>a former deputy director general of the International Atomic Energy A<\/span>gency (IAEA),\u00a0<\/span>said he believes the Iranian regime has enough components to make viable atomic weapons.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIran has not only increased its number of centrifuges, but produced about one\u00a0<\/span>ton<\/span>\u00a0of low enriched uranium, enriched up to 4.5 percent. This amount is\u00a0<\/span>actually enough<\/span>\u00a0to make one nuclear device if Iran wants to enrich it further to the level of 90 percent. At the same time, Iran has installed additional centrifuges and is testing new models of centrifuges.\u00a0<\/span>I<\/span>f<\/span>\u00a0the 2,000 centrifuges are reassembled it will double the Iranian enrichment capacity. It will bring the breakout time – the time that it takes to produce highly enriched uranium for a nuclear weapon – to perhaps only two or three months,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Last week, the\u00a0<\/a><\/span>IAEA in a statement to its member states, which was leaked to the press,\u00a0<\/span>confirmed the Iranian regime h<\/span>as\u00a0<\/span>been\u00a0<\/span>violating all of its obligations<\/span>\u00a0and restrictions<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>under the terms of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal with world powers, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action or JCPOA. This statement once again confirms the Iranian Resistance\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>longtime position that\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>mullahs are speeding toward a nuclear bomb to prolong their rule, and if the international community stands by<\/span>\u00a0this<\/span>, it<\/span>\u00a0will result in a huge humanitarian catastrophe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Weekly-Signe-up-logo\"<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>The IAEA report reveal<\/span>ed<\/span>\u00a0that the regime\u2019s enriched uranium stockpile\u00a0<\/span>is<\/span>\u00a0almost eight times over the limit set under the terms of the\u00a0<\/span>JCPOA<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0The regime quickly\u00a0<\/span>confirmed this actio<\/span>n.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Kazem Gharib Abadi, the regime\u2019s permanent ambassador to the international organizations in Vienna, Austria, while confirming the IAEA\u2019s recent report, said: \u201cThe recent document by the IAEA confirms that Iran is implementing its earlier decision to suspend all of its commitments under the terms of the JCPOA.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard, in an interview with CNSNEWS<\/a>, Mr. Alireza\u00a0<\/span>Jafarzadeh<\/span>, the deputy director of the National\u00a0 Council of Resistance of Iran U.S.\u00a0<\/span>Representative\u00a0<\/span>O<\/span>ffice (NCRI-US) said:\u00a0<\/span>\u201cThis regime should have never been allowed any enrichment capabilities, nor provided any ability to do nuclear-related research and development under any pretexts<\/span>.<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAll pathways of the Iranian regime to fissile material must be irreversibly blocked and the ballistic missile program, the purpose of which is to carry a nuclear warhead, must be entirely dismantled.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>T<\/span>he IAEA should refer the regime to the U.N. Security Council, triggering a restoration of all U.N. sanction<\/span>s<\/span>,\u201d he added.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Iranian regime started reducing its commitments under the JCPOA<\/span>\u00a0to blackmail the European countries to help the regime evade U.S. sanctions<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>imposed after<\/span>\u00a0President Trump withdrew from the nuclear deal citing<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0regime\u2019s malign behavior<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>However, the European signatories<\/span>\u00a0have been very much reluctant in\u00a0<\/span>holding the regime to account.\u00a0<\/span>The regime waste<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0national resources on its\u00a0<\/span>nuclear program while people are\u00a0<\/span>losing<\/span>\u00a0their lives daily\u00a0<\/span>and grappl<\/span>ing<\/span>\u00a0with poverty and starvation. But\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>regime needs a nuclear bomb\u00a0<\/span>to prolong\u00a0<\/span>its life, therefore it\u00a0<\/span>prioritize<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0obtaining it over people\u2019s health.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The mullahs\u2019 r<\/span>egime never\u00a0<\/span>abided by the JCPOA.\u00a0<\/span>Ali Akbar Salehi, head of the regime\u2019s Atomic Agency, acknowledged that, in\u00a0<\/span>nuclear\u00a0<\/span>negotiations with the P5+1, he had lied about the Arak site and had hidden, upon Khamenei\u2019s order, some of the prohibited equipment they had bought (State-run Channel 4 TV<\/span>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/span>January\u00a0<\/span>22,\u00a0<\/span>2019)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On\u00a0April 2020, Salehi also said:\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>Nuclear activities, as well as research and development on the nuclear fuel cycle, uranium conversion, and enrichment (including production and storage), are being carried out without any restrictions<\/span>.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Salehi\u2019s remarks\u00a0<\/span>indicate<\/span>\u00a0that the\u00a0<\/span>Iranian\u00a0<\/span>regime has never abandoned its covert nuclear weapons project and continues to hide and provide false and misleading information while accelerating its illegal nuclear activities\u00a0<\/span>profiting<\/span>\u00a0from<\/span>\u00a0the Coronavirus global cri<\/span>sis.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
