I<\/span>n a letter to the National Council of Resistance of Iran<\/a><\/span>\u00a0(NCRI<\/a>)<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>The Swiss government<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>announced that the assassination case of Professor Kazem\u00a0<\/span>Rajavi<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>NCRI\u2019s representative in<\/span>\u00a0Switzerland, who was gunned down by the Iranian regime\u2019s terrorists,\u00a0<\/span>will be\u00a0<\/span>closed due to<\/span>\u00a0a<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>statute<\/span>\u00a0of limitation<\/span>s<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0This action\u00a0<\/span>will\u00a0<\/span>only embolden the terrorist\u00a0<\/span>regime ruling\u00a0<\/span>Iran and<\/span>\u00a0justif<\/span>y<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>its crimes against\u00a0<\/span>humanity<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In his letter, the Prosecutor for Vaud Province in\u00a0<\/span>Switzerland had<\/span>\u00a0declared that consistent with Swiss law, their decision of closing\u00a0<\/span>Prof<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>Rajavi’s<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>case, \u201c<\/span>cannot be appealed<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0(Article 319 of item 3CPP). While naming 14 terrorist<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0who have been prosecuted for their role in\u00a0<\/span>Prof<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>Rajavi’s<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>assassination<\/span>,\u00a0 the Prosecutor has refrained from mentioning the names of the Iranian regime\u2019s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, then-Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Velayati, and Hassan Rouhani, then-Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council and the\u00a0<\/span>regime\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0current president, who commissioned and ordered the assassination.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A crime against humanity\u00a0<\/span>cannot be subjected to the statute of limitations<\/span>. The\u00a0<\/span>perpetrators<\/span>\u00a0of crimes against humanity during the World War\u00a0<\/span>II<\/span>\u00a0are still being prosecuted.\u00a0<\/span>Not holding criminals and terrorists to account is\u00a0<\/span>construed as\u00a0<\/span>a license to kill<\/span>. The Iranian regime has never stopped its terrorism in Europe. The regime\u2019s 2018 bomb plot against the NCRI\u2019s annual \u201cFree Iran\u201d<\/span>\u00a0rally,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in which\u00a0<\/span>hundreds of dignitaries<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>politicians and<\/span>\u00a0t<\/span>ens of thousands of<\/span>\u00a0supporters of<\/span>\u00a0a free Iran<\/span>\u00a0from Europe, including the Switzerland, and\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>United States participated<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0confirms this.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard, the Iranian Resistance in\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>statement declared<\/span><\/a>\u00a0that<\/span>\u00a0it\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>strongly protests and condemns the closure of the file on the assassination of Prof. Kazem Rajavi. It considers this decision an abject political deal\u00a0similar to\u00a0facilitating two of the arrested killers in France on December 21, 1993, escape justice. Terrorism and crime against humanity perpetrated relentlessly by the religious fascism ruling Iran cannot be subject to the statute of limitations. Seven bloodbaths and massacres against the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI \/ MEK)<\/a> in camps Ashraf and Liberty (in Iraq), the arrest of the terrorist\u00a0<\/span>Assadollah<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Assadi<\/span>\u00a0who planned to bomb the grand gathering of Iranians on June 30, 2018, in France, and the expulsion of the regime\u2019s ambassador and diplomat terrorists from Albania all attest to this reality.<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cInvoking the statute of limitations regarding the file on the murder of Prof. Kazem Rajavi, a by-product of much delay and postponement amounts to nothing but preventing justice from being served and appeasing the mullahs and their unbridled terrorism. But the Iranian people will neither forgive nor forget,\u201d<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0NCRI added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prof<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>Rajavi<\/span>\u00a0was gunned down on April 24, 1990<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>in broad daylight by several agents of the Iranian regime\u2019s notorious Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS<\/a>) as he was driving to his home in\u00a0<\/span>Coppet<\/span>, a village near Geneva.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Prof.\u00a0<\/span>Rajavi<\/span>\u00a0was Iran\u2019s first ambassador to the UN European headquarters after the 1979 revolution but joined the Iranian Resistance\u00a0<\/span>in 1981 following the regime\u2019s clear violation<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0of human rights and the beginning of the Resistance movement against the mullahs\u2019 regime. Since then, until the last day of his life, he tire<\/span>lessly defended human rights values and was the voice of\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>tortured political prisoners and\u00a0<\/span>Iranian Resistance\u2019s martyrs in<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0international\u00a0<\/span>arena<\/span>. His famous saying\u00a0<\/span>wa<\/span>s: \u201cWe will write the history of\u00a0<\/span>h<\/span>uman\u00a0<\/span>r<\/span>ights with our blood,\u201d and<\/span>\u00a0so<\/span>\u00a0he did.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the Iranian Resistance has said,\u00a0<\/span>the Swiss Government and Judiciary\u00a0<\/span>must\u00a0<\/span>keep open\u00a0<\/span>Prof.\u00a0<\/span>Rajavi\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0file.\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>International arrest warrants must be issued for those who ordered and perpetrated this terrorist murder.
