Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) said Tuesday he believed the Trump administration will stand up to the regime in Iran and praised the new president for his willingness to use terms shunned by his predecessor when describing the threat posed by terrorists. Wrote Penny Starr in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnsnews.com\/news\/article\/penny-starr\/rep-rohrabacher-isnt-it-wonderful-have-president-who-can-use-words-radical\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"alternate noopener noreferrer\">CNSNews.com<\/a> on January 24, the following is the full text:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIsn\u2019t it wonderful to have a president that can use the words \u2018radical Islamic terrorist?\u2019\u201d Rohrabacher said at a Capitol Hill briefing by the Organization of Iranian American Communities. \u201cIsn\u2019t that a wonderful thing? \u201c<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat means we have sent a message to those radical Islamic terrorists that run Iran, that we have their number. We know what they are doing and we are not afraid to stand up to their type of tyranny.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>(In his inaugural address, Trump pledged to \u201cunite the civilized world against radical Islamic terrorism, which we will eradicate completely from the face of the Earth.\u201d)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">&lt;iframe title=&quot;MRC TV video player&quot; src=&quot;https:\/\/www.mrctv.org\/embed\/196271<\/p>\n<p>Rohrabacher and other lawmakers speaking at the briefing \u2013 including Rep. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.), one of 25 House Democrats who voted against President Obama\u2019s nuclear deal with Iran \u2013 called for continued sanctions against the Iranian regime.<\/p>\n<p>They also called on the administration to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a foreign terrorist organization.<\/p>\n<p>The lawmakers called Iran the \u201cnumber one state-sponsor of terror,\u201d citing its ongoing support for the Assad regime in Syria where hundreds of thousands of people have been killed in the drawn-out civil war.<\/p>\n<p>Also taking part in the briefing were representatives of the exiled Iranian opposition movement.<\/p>\n<p>Last September, the last group of National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)\/People\u2019s Mujahedeen Organization of Iran (MEK) dissidents who had been living in Iraq for decades \u2013 in Camp Ashraf in Diyala province, and then from 2012 in Camp Liberty near the Baghdad airport \u2013 were relocated to Europe with the help of the United States. Before the relocation, the residents had come under attack on a number of occasions.<\/p>\n<p>Dissidents at Tuesday\u2019s briefing thanked lawmakers for their continued support for a free and democratic Iran.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have freed the people of Camp Ashraf,\u201d Rohrabacher said. \u201cNow it\u2019s time for us to free the people of Iran.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rep.
