M<\/span><\/b>essage to <\/span><\/b>a virtual conference announcing the support of <\/span><\/b>the majority of<\/span><\/b> U.S. Congress<\/span><\/b> for Resolution 374<\/span><\/b> to stand with<\/span><\/b> Iran<\/span><\/b>\u2019s People and Resistance<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u202fOrganization of the Iranian American Communities\u202f(<\/span>OIAC<\/span><\/a>)\u202fheld a virtual conference<\/a>, attended by senior U.S. lawmakers and personalities<\/span>,<\/span> on Wednesday unveiling House Resolution 374 <\/span>that condemns<\/span> the Iranian regime\u2019s terrorism\u202fand<\/span> calls for <\/span>necessary measures to be taken to support the Iranian people to achieve freedom.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)<\/a><\/span>,<\/span> sent a video message to this important event.<\/span><\/p>\n

The full text of Mrs. Rajavi\u2019s message is as follows:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Freedom-loving Iranians, Honorable lawmakers,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Greetings to you all for taking part in this conference in support of the Iranian people\u2019s struggle for freedom and democracy, and for holding the religious dictatorship ruling Iran to account. The regime in Tehran is the leading state sponsor of terrorism in the world today.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

First of all<\/span>, I would like to thank Representatives Tom McClintock and Brad Sherman for their pivotal role in proposing Resolution 374.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This resolution, co-sponsored by a bipartisan majority of members of Congress, reflects the American people\u2019s support for Iranian people\u2019s desire for a free\u202fIran, a republic based on people\u2019s free vote, separation of religion and state, gender equality, respect for the rights of ethnic groups, and a\u202f<\/span>non-nuclear Iran<\/span><\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our struggle is not for taking power, but to realize the Iranian people\u2019s desires.<\/span>
\nThe Iranian people have struggled against two dictatorships and for freedom. They overthrew the shah and will continue their struggle to overthrow the mullahs\u2019 regime and achieve freedom.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

They are encouraged that this resolution supports one of their goals for a republic based on the separation of religion and state. The Iranian people will be inspired to know that the representatives of the American people hear their voice.<\/span>
\nLet it be known that the people of Iran are more determined than ever to continue the struggle for freedom. They have paid a heavy price by offering 120,000 martyrs. We want the people of Iran to freely choose their own destiny.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the\u202fprotests\u202fin November 2019 and January 2020, the people of Iran demonstrated their determination to change the regime. The Iranian people and Resistance have shown that the mullahs\u2019 suppression and crimes failed to put out the flames of freedom in Iran and cannot do so in the future.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, our nation, Iran, is at a critical moment in history. The regime\u2019s regional strategy has hit a dead end. Corruption is widespread. The Iranian people realize that the suffering and poverty they face is because the mullahs have plundered our nation\u2019s wealth. The criminal mullahs have no way out of the crisis of overthrow.<\/span>
\nFacing such major crises, Khamenei and Rouhani tried to use the coronavirus to overshadow the public\u2019s <\/span>outrage, as well as their regional and international failures. They wanted to overshadow the November 2019 uprising, with its 1,500 martyrs.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While governments and lawmakers across the world are standing with their people against the pandemic, in\u202fIran\u202fthe regime is united with the virus against the people of Iran.<\/span>
\nFor this reason, the regime did not allocate the minimum budget or resources needed to cope with the pandemic. While the Iranian people were under tremendous pressure, the regime used the country\u2019s financial resources to fund their proxies in the region.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These actions have caused the deaths of nearly 53,000 of our compatriots, deaths which could have been avoided.<\/span>
\nI am delighted that a majority of lawmakers have condemned the terrorist activities of the mullahs\u2019 regime through its so-called diplomatic missions and terrorist-diplomats.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Iranian Resistance commends the call to hold the mullahs accountable and to adopt decisive measures, such as the closure of the regime\u2019s centers of espionage and terror in Europe, including in Albania.<\/span>
\nThe people of Iran are encouraged to see that the lawmakers have expressed support for their right to rise up against a repressive and corrupt regime.<\/span>
\nNow, the time has come to stop the activities of the regime\u2019s agents and entities in the U.S. under whatever pretext.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Iranian Resistance has always persisted on the need to re-impose the six UN Security Council resolutions and the international arms embargo against the clerical regime in Iran.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After more than 40 years of carnage, suppression, poverty and terrorism under the mullahs\u2019 rule, it is truly admirable that the elected representatives of the people of America are standing with the people of Iran and their struggle for a free Iran, and it reflects the solidarity of American people with the people of Iran.<\/span>
