Reports from Iran indicate that <\/span>the<\/span> mullahs\u2019 regime has increased its oppressive measures. <\/span>In the most recent development, <\/span>Revolutionary Guards (IRGC)<\/a> commander Hossein Salami appointed Brigadier General Hossein Nejat as his deputy and acting commander of the IRGC\u2019s <\/span>Sarallah<\/span> Base in Tehran<\/span>. <\/span>Sarallah<\/span> headquarters is an important part of the security apparatus of the IRGC<\/a>,<\/span> and its primary responsibility is to provide security for Iran\u2019s capital.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In another <\/span>development<\/span><\/a>, in a letter to the regime\u2019s judiciary chief, <\/span>Ebrahim<\/span> Raisi<\/span>, Salami reiterated that<\/span> the<\/span> IRGC <\/span>is ready to cooperate wit<\/span>h<\/span> the Judiciary to \u201cestablish security\u201d in the society.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The stat<\/span>e<\/span>-run <\/span>Mehr<\/span> news agency <\/span>quoted<\/span><\/a> Mohammad-Reza <\/span>Edalatkhah<\/span>, <\/span>Chief Justice of Hamadan Province<\/span>, northwest Iran, <\/span>as saying that \u201cover 65,000 cases were created in this province <\/span>in the current year. <\/span>The highest number of prisoners in the west of the country belongs to Hamadan province.<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While fearing another uprising, with youth and women <\/span>at <\/span>its forefront as in the nationwide November 2019 Iran protests<\/a>, <\/span>the regime has imposed <\/span>a <\/span>new series of restriction<\/span>s<\/span> under the pretext of so-called \u201cfighting<\/span> improper <\/span>clothing and <\/span>mal-<\/span>veiling<\/span>,\u201d to justify a wide crackdown on Iranian youth and particularly the women.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/a>On June 16, the state-run Fars News agency, which is affiliated with the IRGC, <\/span>while quoting mullah <\/span>Hojatollah<\/span> Zaker<\/span>, <\/span>Deputy Minister of Culture and Social Affairs of the Center for Mosque Affairs,<\/span> wrote: \u201cAs<\/span> the temperature rises, we witness many women and girls in cities<\/span> and in<\/span> vehicles<\/span> who<\/span> are improperly or not veiled at all. <\/span>We hope that the authorities will wake up and with<\/span> the<\/span> end of spring<\/span>,<\/span> put an end to this problem.<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These <\/span>misogynist <\/span>rules are not limited to<\/span> Iran\u2019s<\/span> cities.\u00a0 On June 15, t<\/span>he Deputy Public Prosecutor of Khorasan Razavi, <\/span>Ghanbari<\/span> Rad, announced that a significant number of women had been identified, summoned, and arrested in the province because they had \u201cremoved their hijab on social media.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard, Reza <\/span>Taghi<\/span>-Pour, <\/span>a <\/span>Member of the regime\u2019s <\/span>P<\/span>arliament<\/span> (<\/span>Majlis<\/span>)<\/span> from<\/span> Tehran<\/span>, said: \u201c<\/span>The passage of the Cyber Security Act is a <\/span>priority for the <\/span>Majlis<\/span>.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The regime fears another round of Iran <\/span>protest<\/span>, such as the one<\/span> in<\/span> November, which shook the regime\u2019s foundation. In addition, <\/span>women and <\/span>youth are approaching the Iranian opposition, particularly the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK)<\/a><\/span>. Therefore,<\/span> through<\/span> increas<\/span>ed<\/span> oppressive measure<\/span>s, the regime<\/span> tries to confront the restive Iranian society, especially as the <\/span>economic<\/span> failures<\/span> and<\/span> now the COVID-19 <\/span>cris<\/span>i<\/span>s and <\/span>the <\/span>regime\u2019s wrong policies increase pressure on the people. In addition, by restricting access to <\/span>the <\/span>internet or other suppressive measures<\/span>,<\/span> the regime tries to prevent people, especially youth<\/span>,<\/span> from joining the Iranian Resistance.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard, the <\/span>Rahyaftegan<\/span><\/a> state-run website in an article <\/span>on May 29 wrote: \u201cO<\/span>ur youth, on a scale of thousands are being trapped by <\/span>[Iranian <\/span>R<\/span>esistance leader Massoud] <\/span>Rajavi\u2019s<\/span> charisma<\/span>.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In an\u202f<\/span>interview\u202f<\/span><\/a>with \u202fthe state-run\u202f<\/span>Etemad<\/span>\u202fOnline news agency<\/span> on May 24, Mohammad-Reza Mortazavi Head of the\u202fIranian Flour Makers Association and President of the Iranian Food Industry Associations<\/span>,<\/span> said: <\/span>\u201cThis social hatred that has engulfed the middle class is one of the factors hindering prosperity in the country. This hatred will turn <\/span>in<\/span>to resentment.
