According to the Iranian Resistance, the\u00a0<\/a><\/span>COVID-19 pandemic has claimed\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>lives of over 60,400 Iranians, <\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>16,000 alone in Te<\/span>hran<\/span>\u00a0have lost their lives. This is the result of the Iranian regime\u2019s wrong inhumane policies.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK)<\/span><\/a>, which has been closely tracking the coronavirus death toll in Iran, announced on Tuesday that over 60,400 people have lost their lives across Iran. The regime\u2019s engineered\u00a0<\/span>statistics also indicate a sudden and rapid increase of victims in Iran.\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In Tehran,\u00a0<\/span>the state-run\u00a0<\/span>Fars<\/span>\u00a0news agency<\/span>\u00a0quoted Alireza\u00a0<\/span>Zali<\/span>, as “commander of the task force combating Coronavirus in the Greater Tehran,”\u00a0<\/span>yesterday<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>as\u00a0<\/span>saying<\/span>:\u00a0<\/span>“<\/span>A<\/span>bout 20 percent of Tehran’s population has been infected with Coronavirus so far.” This clearly means that 2.8 million people in Tehran Province have contracted the virus<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>), said the growing and shocking number of victims across the country, especially in Tehran, is a direct result of Khamenei’s and Rouhani’s criminal policies that in clear conflict with the relevant ministries and regime experts have sent workers to face the Coronavirus epidemic instead of coming to people’s aide and locking down non-essential activities. Instead, they brazenly claim that the public follows less than 9% of health protocols. How can they send millions of people to work in one of the most densely populated parts of the world in Tehran while maintaining social distancing?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0truth\u00a0behind the rising death toll in Iran\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The regime\u2019s officials, particularly supreme leader Ali Khamenei and\u00a0<\/span>President<\/span>\u00a0Hassan Rouhani,\u00a0<\/span>have reiterated that people should live with this virus. In a nutshell, the mullahs\u2019 regime pursues the herd immunity policy. In a country like Iran, with tremendous national resources, and when Khamenei controls billions of dollars of assets, directly or indirectly through various financial\u00a0<\/span>institutions, the herd immunity policy is wrong. Yet, <\/span>adopting\u00a0<\/span>this policy confirms that\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>mullahs do not care about people\u2019s lives.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/a>The Iranian regime denied the existence of\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>virus for weeks. Once the Iranian Resistance<\/span>\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0revelations and international pressure forced the mullahs\u2019 regime to acknowledge the existence of this virus in Iran, the regime\u2019s officials started a campaign of deception and downplaying of the crisis<\/span>\u00a0and refused to order a national quarantine.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This national quarantine\u00a0<\/span>didn\u2019t<\/span>\u00a0last long, and\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>regime forced people back to work,\u00a0<\/span>blaming\u00a0<\/span>international sanctions and lack of money to support people.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>While the regime ended the quarantine\u00a0<\/span>and has not increased health workers<\/span>\u2019<\/span>\u00a0salaries despite their tireless efforts, citing economic hardships,\u00a0<\/span>the mullahs\u2019 regime never\u00a0<\/span>ceased\u00a0<\/span>paying wages of\u00a0<\/span>its\u00a0<\/span>mercenaries and terrorists proxy groups in the region.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) revealed in an exclusive report in April 2020 that, The monthly salary of\u202f<\/span>IRGC<\/span><\/a>\u202fmercenaries in Syria, according to information released by the Office of the National Council of Resistance of Iran in the US in July 2016, averages about $1,000 a month. At that time, there were about 70,000 IRGC foreign mercenaries in Syria, including Iraqi (<\/span>Heydarion<\/span>), Afghan (<\/span>Fatemiyoun<\/span>), Lebanese (Lebanese Hezbollah), Pakistani, and Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)\u00a0<\/span>members.\u202fThus, the IRGC\u2019s non-Syrian mercenary salaries in Syria alone amounted to about $70 million a month.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0<\/span>Maryam\u00a0<\/span>Hazrati<\/span>, Deputy Minister of Nursing of the Ministry of Health, referring to the amount of nurses\u2019 salaries in February 2019, said<\/span>: \u201c<\/span>In the private sector, nurses\u2019 salaries were 1.5 million\u00a0<\/span>tomans<\/span>\u00a0plus performance reward, in the public sector, 2.5 million\u00a0<\/span>tomans<\/span>\u00a0plus performance reward and the average performance reward was a maximum of 800,000\u00a0<\/span>tomans<\/span>.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Optimistically\u00a0<\/span>assu<\/span>ming<\/span>\u00a0that the average salary of each nurse is 3 million\u00a0tomans, it will be equal to $<\/span>150<\/span>\u00a0per month. (At\u00a0<\/span>an\u00a0<\/span>exchange rate of\u00a0<\/span>19<\/span>,<\/span>84<\/span>0\u00a0tomans\u00a0per U.S. dollar)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The regime\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>incessant\u00a0<\/span>support\u00a0<\/span>for\u00a0<\/span>terrorism\u00a0<\/span>abroad<\/span>\u00a0and<\/span>\u00a0domestic<\/span>\u00a0oppression, along with its mishandling of the\u00a0<\/span>COVID-19\u00a0<\/span>crisis, shows<\/span>\u00a0the regime has no intention of helping the\u00a0<\/span>Iranian people nor controlling the coronavirus outbreak. If not, why despite its vast economic resources<\/span>\u00a0does the regime<\/span>\u00a0force people back to work? Why, instead of helping them,\u00a0<\/span>does it\u00a0<\/span>blatantly\u00a0<\/span>blame<\/span>\u00a0them for not abiding by\u00a0<\/span>regulations<\/span>?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The regime\u2019s true intention is to use the coronavirus as a lever of oppression.\u00a0<\/span>The\u00a0<\/span>regime forced people back to work because more people were rapidly joining the army of starving\u00a0<\/span>individuals while in quarantine with no financial support. And the regime was not able to finance them, since it needs every penny to pursue its warmongering policies such as obtaining a nuclear bomb or\u00a0<\/span>supporting terrorism abroad. Fearing this restive society and army of starving people<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0the regime forced people back to work to somehow quell the society. Yet, this decision has increased people\u2019s hatred toward a regime<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and<\/span>\u00a0only<\/span>\u00a0a spark is needed\u00a0<\/span>for\u00a0<\/span>the Iranian society<\/span>\u00a0to explode<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard, Mrs. Rajavi said:\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>in circumstances where economic crises are deepening every day, and the exchange rate for one dollar has surged past 200,000\u00a0rials, the only preoccupation of the mullahs’ regime is to step up suppressive measures to prevent a popular uprising, which would uproot the regime. The closed-door session of the regime’s parliament in the presence of IRGC Brig. Gen. Ali Baqeri, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of the Armed Forces, convened last Tuesday, was precisely for this purpose.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
