The\u00a0People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI)<\/a>\u00a0announced this afternoon, June 24, 2020, that Coronavirus has taken the lives of more than\u00a060,700\u00a0<\/strong>in 339 cities across Iran.<\/p>\n

4590 in Khuzestan,\u00a03070 in Gilan, 2150 in Lorestan, 1860 in East Azerbaijan, 1490 in Golestan, 1350 in Hamedan,\u00a01210 in Kurdestan,\u00a0780 in Yazd. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.<\/p>\n

People from all walks of life are holding more gatherings and rallies protesting their poor living conditions. Workers of the Haft Tappeh Sugar Cane Company in Shush, southwest Iran, held a rally for the eighth consecutive day on Monday, June 22, protesting company officials\u2019 refusal to respond to their demands. These workers have officially launched a strike and are rallying outside the company site.<\/p>\n

The protesting Haft Tappeh workers are demanding their delayed paychecks, improvements in working conditions, the company\u2019s status being finalized, a return to work for all company employees, canceling all plans to privatize the company and extending the expiration date for employees\u2019 medical plans.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of Tehran Prisoners Face Severe Water Shortages Amid the Pandemic<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Hundreds of prisoners at the\u00a0Greater Tehran Penitentiary<\/a>\u00a0face severe water shortages despite the outbreak of the coronavirus in the prison.
\nAs of Friday, June 19, the water of the ward 5 of this prison has been cut off, and the prisoners in this part of the prison are also deprived of drinking water.
\nEmergency water was also cut off on Friday, and prison officials locked the doors of the ward\u2019s halls to prevent the prisoners from protesting.
\nHot water has been cut off in some prison wards for more than two weeks.<\/p>\n

Wednesday, June 24, 2020, marks the 222nd<\/sup>\u00a0day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK)<\/a>\u00a0has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.<\/p>\n
