His family were informed on June 10 that their son had been secretly executed a few weeks ago in western Iran. Amir Hossein Moradi, Saied <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Tamjidi<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, and Mohammad <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Rajabi<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> were sentenced to death after unfair trials headed by <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Abolghasem<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Salavati in Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Courts in Tehran. On June 8, two men were flogged for taking part in the November 2019 protests in the city of Urmia, northwestern Iran. Azerbaijani rights activists Ali Azizi and <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Eliar<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">Hosseinzadeh<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, were lashed 20 times for &#8216;disturbing public order&#8217;. On June 5, a man in southwestern Iran was flogged 55 times for criticizing and <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">refusing to apologize<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201d<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> to the local representative of the regime\u2019s Supreme Leader. Ruhollah <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Barzein<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, who works in a bakery in <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Charam<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Kohgiluyeh<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> and Boyer-Ahmad Province was flogged due to complaints from Seyed <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Nourallah<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Afshar, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Charam\u2019s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> head of Friday prayers. According to the sentence issued by the 1st Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Shiraz, Siavosh <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Nourozi<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">Jafarlou<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> was sentenced to seven years of prison for <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">assembly and collusion with the intention of disrupting internal security<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201d<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> and &#8216;insulting the leader Ali Khamenei,&#8217;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Iran HRM added.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">While referring to the inhumane sentences and tortures by the Iranian <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">regime<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, Iran HRM wrote: <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">At the same time, three individuals were sentenced to amputation on charges of petty crimes.<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">There were reports of at least two prisoners being tortured to death.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Iran HRM dedicated a large part of its monthly report to the COVID-19 pandemic in Iran, which <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">has <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">so far claimed<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> lives of<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/statement-human-rights\/iran-coronavirus-death-toll-in-341-cities-exceeds-63700\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> over 63,000<\/a> people due to the <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">regime\u2019s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> inaction and cover-up. The situation of Iranian prisoners is even more deplorable. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In several prisons and jails with rapidly escalating outbreaks, basic protocols to prevent the virus from spreading were ignored. Seventeen inmates held in one cell of ward 7 have all now contracted COVID-19.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201d<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Instead of helping <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">prisoners in<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Zahedan Central Prison of <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Sistan<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> and Baluchistan Province, according to Iran HRM<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> the <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">regime\u2019s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> authorities <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">cut off water to these inmates for a week in June, leaving the prisoners in atrocious hygiene conditions. Signs of coronavirus have already been witnessed in various wards and left <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a number of<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> the inmates dead. Reports from the city of Isfahan indicate <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/coronavirus-in-iran\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">COVID-19<\/a> is spreading in the city\u2019s <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Dastgerd<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> prison and. Many patients in just one ward have contracted the novel coronavirus, reports indicate. They are ill with fevers and severe coughing. New Covid-19 case has created greater risk of infection for political prisoners in <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Rajaei<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">Shahr<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Prison, Karaj. Political prisoner <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Iraj<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">Hatami<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> who suffered symptoms like the Covid-19 disease, was sent to a civic hospital on June 16. Other political prisoners with serious illnesses are detained in the same ward with Mr. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Hatami<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> and were in greater danger of contracting the disease. many prisoners in all wards of Urmia Central Prison are showing coronavirus symptoms such as fever, sore throat, loss of smell and taste senses, and body aches. The lack of attention by prison authorities has resulted in the spread of the disease among prisoners. After repeated protests by prisoners, a few critical patients were tested, and they were diagnosed with <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/coronavirus-in-iran\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">COVID-19<\/a>,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201d<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> read the report.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Iran HRM\u2019s monthly report of June 2020<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> once again underlined the need for the international community to intervene and prevent a humanitarian <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">catastrophe<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> from happening in Iran.
