Reports from Iran indicate the regime is handing over some<\/span> Iranian<\/span> islands to China in an unpatriotic 25<\/span>–<\/span>year agreement. This is a desperate move by a regime which is reaching its <\/span>end and tr<\/span>ying<\/span> to hold its grasp on power at any cost.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The regime is handing the Kish island to China in exchange <\/span>for <\/span>military, regional and international support. Particularly<\/span>,<\/span> the mullahs\u2019 regime fears the <\/span>upcoming decision of the United Nations Security Council over <\/span>an<\/span> extension of <\/span>the <\/span>arms embargo on the regime.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile<\/span>,<\/span> the regime<\/span> has not disclosed the details of this agreement, because it fears that<\/span> this unpatriotic agreement could trigger protests by the Iranian people<\/span>,<\/span> who are grappling with poverty and <\/span>the <\/span>COVID-19 crisis<\/a> while the regime auctions their wealth, <\/span>and the regime is unable to control <\/span>a <\/span>possible <\/span>uprising.\u00a0 The regime has never stopped its relations with China. At the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis<\/a>, the regime was the only government that continued its flights from and to China. The Mahan <\/span>A<\/span>ir airline, which is affiliated to the regime\u2019s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC)<\/a><\/span>,<\/span> continued transferring Chinese passengers, prioritizing economic goals over the Iranian people\u2019s lives. Th<\/span>ere were numerous protests to this action. Therefore, fearing an uprising, the regime was forced to stop <\/span>its flight<\/span>s<\/span> or at least pretend it ha<\/span>d<\/span> for a very short <\/span>period of time<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Oil Price website, in an article <\/span>on July 6, 2020<\/span>,<\/span> wrote: \u201c<\/span>Last week, the Supreme Leader [Ali Khamenei] agreed to the extension of the existing deal to include new military elements that were proposed by the same senior figures in the IRGC [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] and the intelligence services that proposed the original deal, and this will involve complete aerial and naval military co-operation between Iran and China, with Russia also taking a key role<\/span>.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Oil Price<\/span>: \u201c<\/span>P<\/span>art of the new military co-operation includes an exchange of personnel between Iran and China and Russia, with up to 110 senior Iranian IRGC<\/a> men going for training every year in Beijing and Moscow and 110 Chinese and Russians going to Tehran for their training.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, the petroleum-economist in September 2013 wrote: \u201c<\/span>Among other benefits, Chinese companies will be given the first <\/span>refusal<\/span> to bid on any new, stalled or uncompleted oil and gas field developments. Chinese firms will also have the first <\/span>refusal<\/span> of opportunities to become involved with <\/span>any and all<\/span> petchems<\/span> projects in Iran, including the provision of technology, systems, process ingredients, and personnel required to complete such projects.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In exchange the regime has agreed to <\/span>let China \u201c<\/span>buy any and all oil, gas, and <\/span>petchems<\/span> products at a minimum guaranteed discount of 12 per cent to the six-month rolling mean average price of comparable benchmark products, plus another 6 to 8 per cent of that metric for risk-adjusted compensation. Additionally, China will be granted the right to delay payment for up to two years and, significantly, it will be able to pay in soft currencies that it has accrued from doing business in Africa and the Former Soviet Union states.<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This disgraceful agreement has also increased the regime\u2019s infighting. Each faction tries to blame the other <\/span>side<\/span>, to avoid the public hatred. <\/span>Mohammad Hasan <\/span>Asafari<\/span>, <\/span>a <\/span>Member of Parliament<\/span>,<\/span> on July 5 said: \u201cDr.\u00a0<\/span> [Mohammad <\/span>Javad<\/span>] <\/span>Zarif<\/a> [the regime\u2019s Foreign Minister]<\/span> just said that they are signing a <\/span>25-year<\/span> contract with <\/span>the <\/span>Chinese. Yet, the Majlis [parliament] is not aware of this. There have been a lot of rumors about this on social media and among people. These rumors <\/span>about handing Kish Island over to China will result in people\u2019s dissatisfaction.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Facing a restive society and an unprecedented international isolation due to its malign activities, the regime <\/span>has been auctioning Iran<\/span> within the last few years<\/span>. <\/span>In 2019, they <\/span>auctioned <\/span>Iran\u2019s historical share of the Caspian Sea to Russia<\/span>. <\/span>The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>) at that time wrote: \u201c<\/span>Undermining the Iranian nation\u2019s national interests, including one trillion dollars in damages from the unpatriotic war with Iraq, the destruction of the environment, the drying up of the nation\u2019s water reserves, the plunder of the Iranian people\u2019s wealth and its squander on exporting terrorism, warmongering, and nuclear and missile programs, are all familiar devices of the mullahs\u2019 regime, which has declared safeguarding the totalitarian rule of the <\/span>vali<\/span>-e faqih (absolute clerical ruler) as the absolute imperative.<\/span> Now, it is the turn of the Caspian Sea, one of Iran\u2019s greatest national treasures, which the anti-Iranian mullahs have given away in a bid to preserve their security and disgraceful rule.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As Mrs. Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, NCRI<\/a> President<\/span>,<\/span> had said: <\/span>\u201cFor Khomeini, <\/span>Khamenei<\/span> and Rouhani, neither water, nor the land, nor the culture, nor the lives, nor the wealth of the Iranian people have any value. Only one thing matters: Preserving the rule of the mullahs, which Khomeini described as the \u2018absolute imperative,\u2019 and for which one can abrogate Islamic edicts, and first and foremost give away the land and water of Iran and its people and massacre its valiant children in the prisons<\/span>. <\/span>Indeed, what could an invader do that the mullahs have not done to Iran and the Iranian people.
