The<\/span> Iranian regime executed a man in Iran for consumption of alcohol. This execution shows both the regime\u2019s brutality and viciousness, and <\/span>its<\/span> fear of <\/span>the<\/span> restive society. This execution <\/span>was a <\/span>criminal act <\/span>aimed at <\/span>spread<\/span>ing<\/span> fear among<\/span> the<\/span> people of Iran<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The victim<\/span>,<\/span> identified as <\/span>Morteza<\/span> Jamali, <\/span>was <\/span>the father of two small children. <\/span>This execution<\/span> is against all the teachings of Islam and could only be justified by the mullahs\u2019 regime reaction<\/span>ary<\/span> and medieval interpretation of Islam, which <\/span>mirrors that of<\/span> the <\/span>Islamic State<\/span>\u2019s<\/span> terrorist organization. <\/span>In fact, the clerical regime in Iran is <\/span>the <\/span>godfather of ISIS and its atrocities against the Iranian people <\/span>like amputating arms and legs, <\/span>gouging<\/span> eyes<\/span>, and<\/span> stoning are just few examples of the <\/span>punishments<\/span> that this s<\/span>avage regime <\/span>practices<\/span> against<\/span> the Iranian people.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This execution was widely condemned by human rights groups and people across the world. <\/span>Amnesty International <\/span>said<\/span> in a statement: <\/span>\u201cThe Iranian authorities have once again laid bare the sheer cruelty and inhumanity of their judicial system by executing a man simply for drinking alcohol. The victim was the latest person to be executed in <\/span>Valkalibad<\/span> prison, the site of numerous secret mass executions and a grotesque theatre of Iran\u2019s contempt for human life.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Along with the regime\u2019s 40 years of oppression<\/span> and<\/span> export of terrorism, which have brought no<\/span>thing<\/span> but poverty for the Iranian people, the Iranian society has been grappling with <\/span>the <\/span>COVID-19 pandemic<\/a>. T<\/span>he COVID-19 crisis<\/span> has so far claimed <\/span>the <\/span>lives of nearly 70,000 people across Iran<\/span> due to the Iranian regime\u2019s cover-up and inaction<\/span>. The COVID-19 crisis<\/a>, multiplied with years of oppression and poverty, has turned the Iranian society into a powder keg. The regime fears <\/span>a <\/span>new series of uprisings such as the 2019 nationwide Iran protests.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard, <\/span>Hossein Salami, head of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC<\/a>)<\/span>,<\/span> which is the regime\u2019s main oppressive force<\/span>,<\/span> said: <\/span>\u201cWith the novel coronavirus peaking once again, in various parts of the country we have once again concluded that the sensitivity level regarding this phenomenon must be increased<\/span>.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, <\/span>the regime\u2019s Health Minister <\/span>Saeid<\/span> Namaki<\/span> on Wednesday said: <\/span>According to security reports, the fact that people resort to protests due to poverty and not being able to make ends meet is a serious matter. The President and the security forces must think about the economy and preventing protests<\/span>.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Suppression and creating atmosphere of intimidation and terror is the only preventive measures that regime is capable of carrying out<\/span>.<\/span> The e<\/span>xecution of an innocent man on Wednesday was the regime\u2019s preventive measure <\/span>to create atmosphere of fear and terror in the society<\/span>. Th<\/span>e<\/span> execution was done in the city of Mashhad, where the 2018 nationwide Iran protests began.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Iranian regime intends to use the coronavirus as a lever of oppression<\/span>.<\/span> Like its unpatriotic policy of sending millions of Iranians to death and on minefields during the Iran-Iraq war, <\/span>the regime\u2019s deliberate mismanagement of the COVID-19 crisis<\/a> is <\/span>meant to control the restive Iranian society.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Yet, like all other dictatorships in their last days, the regime has <\/span>underestimated the power of the Iranian people and the organized Resistance <\/span>m<\/span>ovement.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The nationwide Iran protests in November shook the regime\u2019s foundations. <\/span>The unprecedented boycott of the regime\u2019s sham parliamentary elections indicates the people\u2019s conflict with this regime has reached an irreversible point. The restive Iranian society needs <\/span>only <\/span>a spark to explode.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard, <\/span>while <\/span>referring to the economic hardships, the state-run <\/span>Jamaran<\/span> website wrote: \u201cFor this reason, a huge part of the November 2019 protesters<\/a> [the nationwide Iran protests sparked by the sudden increase in fuel prices] are the unemployed children of workers. This year, what choice does a government with zero oil revenue and a 50% budget deficit have other than printing banknotes? And this means a higher inflation rate and workers\u2019 food basket shrinking, making the next protesting force more explosive. Will anyone listen? Is there a will to bring the country out of this bone-breaking deadlock?\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Another regime official told the <\/span>state-run <\/span>Resalat<\/span> daily on March 7: \u201cI am worried about the social and security outcome of this crisis. Soon, rebellions, much larger than the ones in 2018 and 2019 and certainly much larger than the ones in the 1990s, will happen.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
